What’s up? VoiceTubers! Mu name is Ingrid and you’re listening to today’s pronunciation challenge. Guys, last weekend, on November second(2nd), I turned 23 years old. If your birthday is also recent, shout out to you, my fellow([ˋfɛlo] n.伙伴) Scorpios([ˋskɔrpɪ͵o]天蠍座)! you are awesome! During the weekend, I started thinking, what does mean 23 years old to me? Being 23 means no more waiting around. It means it’s time to stop being scared and start taking actions towards achieving my goals and dreams. This’s the year for me to go to another country on my own to study at film school. No parents, no friends, just myself. I’m known for a fact that I have a lot trouble meeting new people because my memories of the past experiences, which takes us back to today’s topic. We can predict our future with our memories. We can imagine things that haven’t yet happened compared to what we already know. And that’s a powerful think. But that could be the downfall of it all. We can be pessimistic and think about the worse, and that makes us afraid. This video today further explains how our memories help us envision([ɪnˋvɪʒən] v.想像)the future. If you’re interested you should take a look. But before that, let’s practice today’s sentence. “ I’m talking about the practical ability to anticipate when crops will be ready to harvest or to prepare for a meeting with your boss.“

It means
1) suitable for the situation in which something is used,
2) or able to provide effective solutions to problems,
3) or relating to experience or real situations or actions rather than ideas or imagination,
4) or able to be done or put into action.

It means to imagine or expect that something will happen.

Big shot means someone who is important or someone who is famous like Obama or Michael Jordan, someone like that. Or you can say big gun or big wheel.

2-2. anticipation [æn͵tɪsəˋpeʃən] (n.)期望,盼望
Anticipation is the noun form of anticipate. It means a feeling of excitement about something that is going to happen in the near future.
* He closed his eyes with anticipation thinking that the girl will kiss him. Instead, she threw a drink in his face.

3-1. harvest [ˋhɑrvɪst ] ( n.)收穫時節;收割,收穫;收成
It means the time of year when crops are cut and collected from the fields, or the activity of cutting and collecting them, or the crops that are cut and collected.
* We didn’t have a good harvest this year because of the typhoons.

3-2. harvest (v.)收割,收穫,捕獲
It means to pick and collect crops, or to collect plants, animals, or fish to eat.
* I walked around the green house to see if my crops will [[be]] ready to harvest.
