===============
Hello everyone! This’s Heather, the host on Saturdays, who can also speak Cantonese. Sadly, this will be the last time that l say this. Today’s pronunciation challenge is my last, prerecorded one. I actually left VoiceTube a little while back and prerecorded my pronunciation challenges before l left. Like I said in pronunciation challenge last week, I purposely chose today’s pronunciation challenge to let you all know what l will or l have been up to after leaving VoiceTube.

+ a little while back 一段時間以前,比 a little while ago 的時間更久遠。

But before I go into the details about that, let’s first go over the featured sentence and vocabulary words. Today’s sentence is “The art we love is frequently something we’re drawn to because it compensates us for what we lack: it counterbalances us.“

+ draw [drɔ] v.吸引,招來
動詞變化 draw drew[dru] drawn[drɔn]

+ Her shouts drew the attention of the police.

+ Synonyms([ˋsɪnə͵nɪm] 同義字) for frequently are often, at times, time and again, etc.

3. counterbalance [ˋkaʊntɚ͵bæləns] (v.)使平衡
It means to have an equal but opposite effect on something so that it does not have too much of a particular characteristic.
* We often seek advice and second opinions to counterbalance what we already have in mind.

Well, that’s it for today’s sentence and vocabulary words. Please remember to record yourself saying today’s sentence.

As for my future plans after leaving VoiceTube, l’ve actually been quite interested in art in the last five years [[?so-so]]. And my favorite type of art to look at is Abshar Art, it’s usually a kind of art that a lot of people will question, how is it in a museum, or gallery? Or they think that they make it themselves. I feel like it’s a kind of art that its meaning, it’s based on how it makes you feel. And you can use your imagination to try to guess what the artist was trying to say or mean when they were painting or drawings their art. And I always actually wanted to touch one of them if they made up of oil or acrylic([æˋkrɪlɪk]壓克力)paint. Obviously, l did not since l would ruin the painting. But l have been very curious about making them and also be able to touch one of the [[?final]] art works.

So yes, I’ll be planning to focus on Abshar Art using acrylic or oil paint. And I’m also planning to [[?the]] backpacking on my own to a few places in Asia. And that’s why I actually asked in the previous pronunciation challenges where should go. Since I haven’t traveled around Asia that much, I feel like this’s the perfect time for me to explore what’s out there and go to the places better closes to Taiwan. So let me know in the comment below if you have any places you would recommend me going alone on the backpacking trip.

Well, this’s the end. Thank you, each and everyone of you for listening to my pronunciation challenges. This might be your first one or might be your thirty-fifth one, which is how many l’ve made in the last 4 months. I hope this won’t be a goodbye and it will be more like a see you soon. If you ever see me in the future, just let me know you listened my pronunciation challenges. And it will immediately make my day. See you in the future. Bye everyone!
