Hi everyone! This’s your host, Estelle. Happy Monday! Though, it’s quite hard to be happy on Mondays. I know it all too well(眾所周知), especially since this week Monday means that I have to face a horrible week of midterm exam.

Anyways, how was your weekend? Did you guys make the most of your time napping in bed to make-up all your energy you lost of the past week? Or did you finally have time to catch up with your favorite television series? Doing these things sounds like an ideal weekend, doesn’t it?

However, according to today’s video, we should spend less time napping and watching TV if you want to win at the game of life. Instead, we should just spend our free time exercising, reading, meditating, and pursuing hobbies.

1-1. list [lɪst ] (n.)名單，目錄；清單
A list is a simple series of words or numeral([ˋnjumərəl] n.數字).
* Mom gave me a list and asked me to shop for groceries.

And the word list is also in a very famous Christmas song, I’m sure you’ve heard of it.
“He's making a list and checking it twice, (he’s) gonna find out who's naughty or nice, Santa Claus is coming to town.“

1-2. list [lɪst ] (v.)將…列成清單；把…列入清單
Santa Claus is coming to town. Christmas is almost around the corner, but anyways, in today’s sentence, list is used as a verb, which means to make a list of something or to include something on a list.
* He listed the names of his students alphabetically. + alphabetically [͵ælfəˋbɛtɪklɪ] adv. 照字母順序排列地

2-1. task [tæsk ] (n.)差事，工作
A task is usually assigned piece of work often to be finished within a certain time.
+ assign [əˋsaɪn] v.分配，分派
* The interns of this company have a lot of tasks at work.

2-2. task (n.) 任務
A task can also be something hard or unpleasant that has to be done.
* The director’s is given the task of unifying the entire department.

3-1. supplement [ˋsʌpləmənt ] (v.)增加，補充
It means to add something to something else to make it larger or better, or to add or serve as a supplement to something.
* The actress had worked many part-time jobs to supplement her income before she got famous.

3-2. supplement [ˋsʌpləmənt ] (n.)補充物，增補物(不可數名詞！）
Supplement can also be used as a noun to indicate something that completes or makes an addition.
* Desserts are a delightful supplement to a regular meal.

4. ability [əˋbɪlətɪ ] (n.)能力；才能
It is the competence([ˋkɑmpətəns] n. 能力) in doing something.
* The little girl has the ability to tell incredible stories that engage the listeners.

5-1. passion [ˋpæʃən ] (n.)激情，熱情
It is a strong liking or desire for or devotion([dɪˋvoʃən] n.熱愛) to some activities, object, or concept.
* Her passion towards music has driven her to become a singer songwriter.

5-2. passionate [ˈpæʃənət] (adj.)情緒激昂的，熱情的
The adjective form of passion is passionate. It means capable of, affected by, or expressing intense feeling.
* Compared to East Asians, Latin Americans relatively speaking are more passionate.
+ relatively speaking 相對而言

Yeah, I also agreed that passion is really important. And it leads us through our lives. Although, many of you may already be working at a job you may not like, you can still make time for your hobbies to make yourselves happier. Well, I feel like lately I’ve been swamped(淹沒) by school and work, and I hardly have time and energy to do what I enjoy doing other than being a couch potato.
