Gordon Ramsay says his one ingredient broccoli soup is perfect.

But today at Cooking at Pam's Place, we're getting ready to make it better.

We're taking a Ramsay classic, and we're adding one thing that's missing one ingredient three ways.

First, you need to make sure you have nice green colored broccoli.

Take your knife, set your broccoli down, and just go around.

Just go right around and they'll come right off.

Now we're going to take two or three of these broccoli florets and set them aside.

The pot of water needs to be boiling rapidly, just like this.

Now we're going to go in and we're going to salt our water first before we put any broccoli in.

You want to salt it before, you want to salt it after.

It can continue to boil maybe three, four, five minutes max.

And you should know when it's done, you should be able to take your knife and just cut through a piece of broccoli.

And this beautiful green broth is what we're looking for.

We don't want all of it because we don't want it to be just super liquidy.

We want to have a thick, rich consistency.

So we're going to start with a little less than half.

Now we're going to add just a pinch more salt.

Anytime you are blending anything that is hot, make sure that top is on right.

And we're going to pulse it first just a couple of times, just so we can get it going before and it won't splatter all out of the top.

Let's see if this is the consistency we want and the taste.

I'm gonna add just a tad bit more liquid.

Now we're gonna set this aside for just one minute.

Okay, we're going to chop some of them up.

we don't quite need that much, but we'll put a few in there.

The first thing we're going to do is put some of these in the bottom of our bowl.

This is going to provide that texture that we want.

Sometimes instead of being able to sip it, it's like a complete meal because you have that texture in there.

Now we're going to pour it in right on top of that broccoli.

Now, Gordon always says you can pour from one side and it'll go all the way around.

Now we're going to take our last little crispy bits with that texture on them, and

It's rare that something this simple can look this amazing.

Right, we have the rich blended soup from the hexclad, the texture from the chopped florets, and

If you like, you can drizzle just a little bit of olive oil right over the top.
