Hey guys, I'm back with another Tokyo on Ten where I take you to 10 Tokyo food spots all under $10 that are delicious—10—and they haven't gone internationally viral yet.

Alright, so our next leg of the journey takes us here;

we've had Wagyu ramen, we've had katsudon, and

now we are in Sudobashi to get our fill on.

A lot of you don't have a lot of money in your pocket, and

I wanted to make the best value we can get, so this next place has curry pork belly on a bed of rice, and

It's small, a bit dark, a Japanese hole in the wall if you will, but

You're not paying for the furniture, so you're getting it back in straight food pleasure.

One thing I love about living in Tokyo: you don't need a lot of money to have a satisfying meal.

Places like these are all I ate at when I first started working in IT here.

So what's nice is they have the vending machine right here in front, so you can just order.

You can get their butadon, you can get their stamina don, or you can get their tori soboro don.

But I'm going to go something a little bit more filling because, you know, that's what I wanted to do.

We are going to go for their curry and cheese don.

So one thing about this place: obviously, if you don't have cash and it's not going to work, you're going to need to bring cash to come to this place.

But you know, a lot of the good value places, they do just require cash.

Are you particular about the meat you use?

肉にこだわるというよりかは、タレにこだわってて、豚丼とかでも4種類の味から選べるようにしてるので、まあそういった意味では飽きの来ないようにいろんな味を食べてもらおうと思ってます。肉はもうとにかく値段は安いやつを、なので国産は使わずに輸入の肉を使って、なるべくお客様には安く提供できるようにしてるんですよ。 Why so reasonable though?

値段は、これでも上がってっちゃったんですけど、元々は500円台でやってて、どんどんどんどん物価が上がるにつれて、今でもちょっと厳しいんですけど、あの、なるべく安く提供しようと思って、はい。大学が多いんですよ、学校が。なので学生さんに元々は安くお腹いっぱいになってもらおうっていうコンセプトで始めたので、多分ご飯も多分普通のお店より多いんですよ。並盛りで400g付いてるんで、まあ多分他のお店で言うと大盛りぐらいですね。 Wow, this has a feed the hungry vibe dripping all over it.

We actually doubled the pork belly in here, got some butter on top.

They have onsen tamago, which is a half-cooked egg.

And then what I like to do as my special now, throw some mayonnaise on here.

Now you guys might not like this, but this is what I love to do.

Whoa, that might be a little too much mayonnaise.

But hey, I played basketball this morning, so I think I can afford a few extra tasty calories.

Give it that spicy kick that we all know and love.

And then what we're going to do is just get some of that egg drippy, drippy like so.

Just, whoa, with the mayonnaise, you get all of that creaminess from the mayonnaise and the egg yolk.

The meat itself is quite flavorful, soft, and delicate.

And then you get this curry that has just an immense flavor.

It's like your kind of typical Japanese curry.

It has a mild sweetness, and it's quite savory.

I think that's a lot of the do with the peppers that I put in here.

There's just so many beautiful flavors with every single bite, and just the gooeyness is just unmatched.

And this cheese, just this gooey, gooey mess of love.

Look at this cheese, how it's just sticking.

And the sauce here, they use that teriyaki garlic sauce, and

it kind of drips all over the rice and just makes the rice even flavorful as well on top of it.

Each bite has this beautiful tanginess from the mayonnaise.

This is why I created this little mini series to take you to these little hidden gems, these hole-in-the-walls that no one knows about.

So if you're not a rice lover, then maybe you can actually ask them to put in a little bit less rice.

So what's also crazy about this place is they have a food fighters challenge here where you can get 1.5 kilograms of this, and

the pork belly and rice, and you got, and also, I think you get three bowls of miso.

If you can finish all of that for, I think it costs 2,000 yen, you get a bowl for free the next time you come here.

But I think you can only just, like, only one person can have it, so you can't just share that.
