So today I'm here in Tokyo and I wanted to show you the newest hotspot, Azabudai Hills.

I'm going to be taking you to some awesome food spots as well as Team Lab Borderless.

So without further ado, let's get this thing started.

Nestled between Kamiyacho and Roppongi Chome Station,

Azabudai Hills feels like a little modern garden city all of its own.

At the heart lies a 6,000 square meter central square, filled with trees and flowers and surrounded by 150 shops and restaurants, a full supermarket, residential area, a hotel, an international school, offices, and even a medical clinic.

So I definitely had to share this untapped Tokyo oasis with all of you.

So one thing that blows me away about this place is the architecture.

Just seeing all the different lines and everything, the way they use the space.

Well, if that doesn't make sense, then oh well, let's keep moving on.

The landscape and architecture is quite unique in itself as the designers sought to seamlessly connect the main towers with the lower surrounding buildings as if to invite you on a journey, almost like branches growing from a tree.

So just walking around, you just feel so peaceful here.

To start off our journey, let's head to the market which just opened this last March.

So there are several buildings in Azabudai Hills and their market is on B1 of Garden Plaza C.

So one of the things I love about going to different countries is visiting the supermarkets.

So if you're anything like me, you have to check out this supermarket because they have a lot of specialty items which I really enjoy.

Azabudai Hills market is far from your typical Japanese supermarket as it has 34 renowned shops uniquely gathered to offer more than just groceries.

These delicatessen style shops aka sozai include Fried Heaven from Hiyama Wagyu, a butcher with over 100 years of history, wine pairing appetizers created by a 10-time Michelin star restaurant Daikan Yamahata, various healthy deli options from Yaoichi and even an all-natural sukemono pickle shop with that grandma's home cooking taste.

They have avocado, they have mushrooms, like you don't really see this very often.

They even have fish cakes right here, even oden right here.

10,000 yen cherries here and these ones are 16,000.

This is Saito Sushi and if you guys have ever seen Jiro Dreams of Sushi, that's the sign shop right there.

What's nice about it is that like you have this whole supermarket area and you have this like famous sushi restaurant just behind you like kind of hidden.

Look at this sauce collection right here.

They have every single sauce except mine, which you know maybe one day they'll have my pal up in Tokyo hot sauce here.

They have a cheese section here and they got full wheels of cheese.

Yamayuki is a renowned wholesaler at Toyosu Fish Market, specializing in tuna and fresh seafood.

It's highly recommended by esteemed sushi and Japanese cuisine restaurants.

Sushi Saito next to them even searches from Yamayuki and now here their offerings are directly available to regular customers like me.

So I too can enjoy the same high quality seafood using their top tier omakase restaurants at the comfort of my own home or I guess on the side of a building.

You have the red part and then you have the shell and then right in the middle you have that green white layer.

Tastes kind of like that or it's not like watermelon taste but it has that fresh liquid taste that little white part of the watermelon.

One more thing I should mention is that surprisingly for Tokyo there's a lot of like sitting spaces here.

This place has some like open area seating which you know I'm sitting in right now.

So if you guys ever wanted your own custom-made dashi then this is the place for you.

In the same area, you'll find Dashi Okume.

Founded in 1871, it's a dried good wholesaler located in Toyosu Fish Market offering a variety of Japanese food items like shoyu, ponzu, miso, dressings and all kinds of deliciousness to elevate the taste of everyday home cooking.

They even have a soy sauce kit for making a flavored dashi shoyu.

While you can find an amazing selection of pre-made dashi packs their signature product here is most definitely their custom handmade dashi packs where customers are able to craft their very own personal blend.

We have a variety of ingredients here so it's safe for kids to make their own dashi.

But is there anything else other than bonito flakes?

What we recommend is a group of bonito flakes, a group of dried sardines, a group of kelp, and a group of mushrooms.

We recommend mixing them together to create a rich flavor.

Based on each customer's personal preference the staff will skillfully guide them through a variety of blends based on a wide selection of their high quality ingredients including bonito flakes, dried sardines, kelp, shiitake mushrooms, vegetables, and other seafood.

For my dashi I plan to use in our udon he suggested combining two types of bonito flakes ibuki ideko, a fish often used in sanuki udon and rishiri kelp which is often used in kyoto cuisine plus donkoshi take mushrooms for its elegance apparently combining different umami components enhances the taste and deepens the flavor all made fresh in front of you it's a pretty cool experience and might even be a good souvenir gift for friends and family look at that i got my own custom-made dashi so what's cool about this place too is after you pay they'll give you a number and basically if you want to come back the next time you can just give them this number so if you guys are interested and you want to get the same exact one that we have here is my number so this place behind me is a specialty rice shop let me take you inside next to dashi okume you'll find my favorite rice shop here sumidaya it's a rice dealer in tokyo with a history spanning 100 years the shop sells onigiri on the go a japanese steamed rice and all sorts of other rice blends all made through a traditional rice polishing technique which mills the rice five to ten times in order to maximize its sweetness and flavor also their rice blends are on a different level drawing from their century of rice crafting knowledge the shop tailors their rice blends for different types of dishes such as sushi curry rice balls and even porridge with their selection you'll always have a rice day and i decided to go with her recommendation tuna okay so here we go look at that it even has a little nice marker take a bite oh the rice itself is really good it's not hot it's cooled down nice texture and you can like almost taste like individual morsel you can really taste the umami of the rice the more you chew the more you taste the sweetness oh and this tuna just has so much flavor so sweet and it's delicious it has like a harder texture to it man i really like her recommendation for this tuna now let's keep on going so at this coffee spot right here you can customize your own blend

Ogawa Coffee Laboratory is a roastery in Kyoto and this shop is a bean salon where you can make a one-of-a-kind blend so what's also cool is there's an information desk right here and you can rent out baby strollers for free i've actually done it for a little bit before if you're looking for a great tea spot then look no further than here let's go this is Nakamura Tokichi a japanese tea brand born in Kyoto Uji in 1854 the shop has various green teas but i'm gonna do what i love to do and have one of their special matcha dessert drinks i have their moruto matcha drink and it has frozen matcha down here jelly matcha it has matcha cookie crumbs in here it has cream matcha it has powdered matcha and it's all in one cup this is freaking phenomenal oh look at that it's like a hard creamy descent into matcha paradise i thought it was going to be like super super bitter with all of the different matcha in here but it's not so bitter like more on the sweeter side maybe the cookie crumbles jelly just kind of like softened the overall matcha taste very very refreshing drink cookie crumbles adds a whole new texture to this whole entire drink and then you got yuzu in here so you escalator you can enjoy the architecture from inside as well so what's nice about this place is that they also have some shopping you can do so it's kind of like a one-stop shop they have apparel, fragrance, a bookstore, home, kitchenware basically if you're into shopping you might want to etch out a few hours in your schedule to spend some more time here omagoyaki with this it even comes with a geta and if you want to take a coffee break there are many cafes as well on the third floor of tower plaza you'll find nicer restaurants and bars this place has yakitori, seafood italian, balcony by six, a thai bistro and the list goes on but today i'm taking you to yoroniku an all-private room yakiniku restaurant that originated in ninami aoyama so i can get my meat on look at this place this is amazing we have this view overlooking the garden there's so many things to do here and i had to take you guys to you know one really nice place if you're looking to take that special one or those special people i love wagyu i love yakiniku so we're already in the right place at a typical japanese yakiniku restaurant the raw meat is served to customers which they cook on their own but here the staff cook it for you to perfection it's like an omakase wagyu beef course you don't need to think you just need to enjoy the meat the course started with appetizers this one was beef tartare this is their yuke so it's like mixed in with egg little onions in here sesame seed and then they have their sauce just smells so good oh wow that's actually sweeter than i would have had anticipated the meat is really fresh even though it's like raw like it's so much flavor in there i think the sauce that they use is quite exquisite the toast is like it's super crispy just grilled it right on top right here this is their premium beef tongue you can eat it as is apparently or you can add a little bit of lemon to give it that citrus look at it just glistening there's a lot of flavor in that that's perfectly cooked you got a lot of that tenderness since it's a tongue you get that playful texture to it the course followed with an elegant marbled extremely tender harami thinly sliced rump loin with just a touch of flame and then a chateaubriand a premium cut from the center of the tenderloin which is slowly cooked whoa that is so tender and the silk loin wrapped rice just melted in my mouth also i couldn't have enough of their sukiyaki an exceptionally premium version topped with heaps of black truffles the truffle which adds an amazing accent to the entire dish and pairs perfectly with a raw egg grab a little bit of extra truffle in there get some of the truffle shavings there's a lot of truffle in there wow that's really strong because that truffle taste that's like undeniable and not to waste any of the truffle sauce goodness this chef adds rice to the bowl to help you savor all of the flavors to finish this memorable course i had the cold noodles and an unbeatable shaved ice so this spot behind me has japanese cheesecakes which are a little bit different let me show you inside mr cheesecake is a dessert shop that specializes in well cheesecakes made by a japanese chef with experience at a michelin restaurant in france rumor has it though it may not be around after the end of september but maybe they'll reconsider after this video their cheesecakes consist of two layers a baked cheesecake on top and a rare cheesecake on the bottom you can enjoy the richness and the cheesiness of the baked part alone or you can mix the two layers for a creamy heaven surprise got them cheesecake hitters all right so here we go we got mr cheesecake's special caramel they have six different flavors they have a classic caramel green tea strawberry lemon pumpkin and i think they also have tiramisu you can actually get this which is a petite or you can get like the loaf size i love how it comes in this little glass container i can smell the goodness and see it's like pretty consistent we know it's thick here we go that is so rich i love the caramel taste it has a nice lemony freshness to it so this caramel cheesecake uses a red sugar and butter to get that flavor just to pop it even has some bui gan cha which is a chinese tea wow it just produces such a unique flavor for cheesecake it's so creamy it's so thick it's almost like eating peanut butter what's interesting is as you get deeper and deeper it gets like creamier and creamier and there you go let me take you to the next spot okay so we made it to team lab borderless here and this part i wanted to bring wolfie along because he's never done this before and you know he's gonna love it so let's go now wolfie you ready to go inside last but not least y'all know i had to include this spot the team lab borderless museum i've actually featured it before in previous videos but that was when it was in Odaiba gotta say even after going a few times in the past the dynamic museum never disappoints with its more than 50 pieces of digital art some of the rooms i remember but there's also new rooms at this location so it made it even more fun to explore the whole experience is difficult to describe and hard to capture on camera but it's definitely a must visit if you've never done anything like this before look at this place it is truly amazing if you touch the birds it explodes let's go get it it's quite breathtaking how you're able to interact with the rooms and how fluid the whole exploration is and each spot is forever changing and morphing into something new what made this time even more special is that i could experience it with my son for the first time and at four years old he loved it some rooms though were a little too dark for him so worth keeping in mind if you're one of those kids at the end there's a sketch factory where you can color various fish and have them come to life in an ocean-like room ah there's Mopi's sea anemone and that's my fish you can also turn your own art into items like a t-shirt or a bag to take home with you it was pretty easy all done through an app and the pickup shop was a short walk just outside of the museum what an amazing experience all of this was wow i got a fish all of this was wow i got my palo from tokyo team lab shirt and look Mopi got his too all right so that's a full tour of asabudai hills if
