Micronesia is home to the world's only ancient city built on a coral reef. Scientists believe that this ancient city, called Nan Madol, was built between 1200 and 1500 CE. Micronesia is also home to the largest crabs in the world. Nauru is the smallest country in Oceania and the third-smallest country in the world after Vatican City and Monaco. It is only 8 square miles in area. That is smaller than most cities in the United States. The tallest mountain in Oceania is found in the country of New Zealand. This mountain is called Aoraki and is over 12,000 feet high. Almost half of all dolphin and whale species can also be found off the New Zealand coastline.
