In a world driven by technology, art is evolving fast, coded, immersive and alive.

And in places like Dubai, this brave new frontier is taking shape.

My heritage and my background as an Emirati provides me with content for my artwork.

Because in order to produce authentic artwork, you need to have lived experience.

My artwork takes you through a specific time period in the Gulf in the early 2000s, I wanted to use the Internet itself as a medium.

I wanted to highlight my own people's Internet culture, which I deeply connect with and I grew up on.

And it had a major influence in the sort of artwork that I ended up creating.

I love humor and I love it the most when it's done cleverly with artwork, culture and the Internet, these are things I'm both very passionate about.

For centuries, art has captured the human story, from cave walls to canvases to cathedral ceilings, often grounded in tradition.

I think I was a very creative and curious child.

Coming from Italy, I would say the traditional art that you are taught is mostly conservative, as in conserving that history that came before.

I've always been fascinated by challenging preconception.

So breaking free from constraints of what is creativity or what is legitimized as art.

Like a brush might have been considered technology back then as a tool, and

then certainly photography was considered technology.

This series that you see in the room is based on ink motion and ink blurriness in relation to memories and emotions as well.

I usually use moment related audio that I create real time to impact or influence the motion or the effect or the blurriness.

Those are alligator cables connected to the board, and

those influence based on how you touch or where you touch, the viscosity of the liquid and they become translated into audio inputs.

They take it through different steps, digital to analog, analog back to digital and immersive space.

I do a lot of experimental technology infused work.

First of all, I will brainstorm some ideas.

I will then put my trusty iPad, put out one of my sketching softwares, and

I would quickly visualize what I think this artwork might look like.

Then I would usually go and ask for the help of ChatGPT because I'm not a coder.

So I'll ask it for a framework like can you give me an HTML code with an ongoing typing animation with a blue background?

Once I have that uploaded on the domain, the artwork is now live online for anyone to view.

Every artist has had to push boundaries throughout the different eras of art.

And perhaps this era's boundary is the merging of technology with art.

As long as art existed, there has always been the implementation of whatever technology there is.

Computers are just another tool to create art.

I get to play, and play is important to me as an artist.

Using technology as their medium, artists blur the line between art and play, turning creativity into an interactive experience.

When it comes to AI, definitely the inception of an art piece is still the human component.

We're using those digital softwares that instead of being primarily two dimensional, they're now three dimensional, and

In a world where it's difficult to be an artist, I find that Dubai has growing support for art and artists and the creative field in general.

There's this merging of the local art scene as well as the international, which I find to be fascinating.

Since arriving here to the uae, I feel like it's a broader window of possibilities and they're redefining themselves as a city.

Dubai feels like the future, and it feels like what modernity should look like and be like.

Anytime there is a big advancement in technology, there will always be pushback.

Technology is beyond time and space and beyond culture.

It's inclusive and it transcends nations, borders and class.
