Intro:
Hey, guys! It’s great to have you back here again at my weekly episode of pronunciation challenge. If you are a newbie around here, a big warm welcome to you as well! Today we’re talking about the issue of pimples. You might also be familiar with the word ‘acne’. Acne is a condition affecting the skin’s pores and oil glands while pimples are one of its symptoms. As you know, when the pores in your skin get clogged with excess oil and skin cells, bacteria can get in easily and cause inflammation and infection.
There are four main types of pimples:
The first two types are called papules and pustules and these are both red, inflamed bumps that occur at the surface of the skin. While papules are usually smaller and are tender to touch, they may develop into pustules, which look like whiteheads on your skin, with whitish or yellowish pus.
The next two types are considered more serious and are formed deeper into your skin. Acne nodules appear as hard, inflamed pimples. These can be painful to touch. Ouch! The fourth type – Acne cysts are actually the more severe and swollen form of acne nodules and these feel like soft, fluid-filled lumps under the skin’s surface and are very painful as well.
Let’s have a listen to our sentence of the day.

Outro:
So with the help of modern science, they might one day find a cure for pimples! Meanwhile, if you’re suffering from a case of pimples, there are some things you should and shouldn’t do to help them go away.
What you can do is to dab a bit of acne cream on the infected areas twice a day. Even when you are only starting to feel like there’s going to be a breakout soon, apply acne treatment medication early and you might be able to stop pimples from forming. Try not to touch your face too much with your fingers. If your pimples are making you uncomfortable, you can try a warm compress by soaking a washcloth in really warm water and apply it on your pimple for 20 minutes or so, a couple of times a day. When you have a more severe case of pimples, it is best to consult a professional dermatologist to receive proper treatment. Whatever you do, make sure you DO NOT ever try to pop a deep pimple or squeeze it. Trust me, and I’m speaking from experience, if you mess around with it this way, it can actually make it grow bigger and much worse and you might end up with a permanent scar—not a pretty sight! Alright guys, hope these tips can be helpful to some of you. Don’t forget to record your sentence and I look forward to seeing you again next week! Bye for now.
