(How Many Children Can A Human Have In A Lifetime?)

“Everyone should have kids. They are the greatest joy in the world, but they are also terrorists. You’ll realize this as soon as they’re born, and they start using sleep deprivation to break you.” - Ray Romano

Greetings Pronunciation Challenge listeners! It’s your host Hubert with a brand spanking new video about kids! What about kids you ask? Well, have any of you ever wondered how many children a human being can physically have? Obviously, a man can have quite a lot. Just look up our favorite conqueror Genghis Khan. However, did he father the most children? You’ll have to watch the video to find out. For women, they can give birth only once every year or so for half their life, so do the math! The woman who birthed the most children according to the Guinness World Record will still surprise you though! These people are busy and have an abundance (which means a very large quantity of) of energy! Ok, go watch the video and come back for the featured sentence. Once you’re done with that, keep listening so that we can continue talking about this interesting topic!

Today’s featured sentence:
“In fact, by tracking types of Y chromosomes, scientists estimate that up to 16 million men today, who live in regions that Khan conquered, could have been descendants of him or his close male relatives.”

I’ll say that again.

“In fact, by tracking types of Y chromosomes, scientists estimate that up to 16 million men today, who live in regions that Khan conquered, could have been descendants of him or his close male relatives.”

Ok, now time for the Pronunciation Tips.

For the first word, we have
Chromosome
three syllables.
“CHRO” sounds like “crow” like the bird. “MO” sounds like the name “Moe” and “SOME” sounds like the word “Home” but with an “S” instead. Chromosome.

Next word.
Conquer
Two syllables
Don’t let the spelling intimidate you, this one is actually pretty simple.
“Con” sounds like “Kong” like “King Kong” and “QUER” is pretty much any other “E R” ending sound with a “K” instead. Conquer.

And our last one would be,
Descendant
Three syllables.
“DE” has a long “E” sound. For “SCEN”, just imagine “S E N”, “SEN”. There, you said it. Finally, we have “DENT” which is a word in itself. “DENT” like you dented something. Descendant.

Moving onto Vocabulary!

The first word is:
1. Chromosome
Definition
any of the rod-like structures found in all living cells, containing the chemical patterns that control what an animal or plant is like
Used in a sentence you could say,
“Anxiety can damage chromosomes responsible for a healthy immune system and shorten life by eight years.”

Next word,
2. Conquer
Definition
to take control or possession of foreign land, or a group of people, by force
Used in a sentence you could say,
“Genghis Khan wanted to conquer the world.”

And lastly,
3. Descendant
Definition:
a person who is related to you and who lives after you, such as your child or grandchild
Used in a sentence you can say:
“I was told by my uncle that I might be a descendant of Genghis Khan!”

I’m still trying to wrap my head around (which means trying to understand) how a woman can birth 69 children! I did some research and found out that Mrs. Feodor Vassilyev had 16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets, and 4 sets of quadruplets! However, there are skepticisms behind this record. So take what you will from this information. The data on Genghis Khan seems to be real though! To this day, people still have traces of his DNA! He’s still conquering to this day! Today’s video gave us a lot of trivia knowledge today. What does trivia knowledge mean? Well, it’s something I’m quite familiar with. Trivia knowledge means little unknown facts or unimportant matters. I’m a great guy to have on your team when it comes to party games.
