"It don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning's winning", Dominic Toretto, Fast and Furious.

Woo baby, today’s clip on Pronunciation Challenge, we’re talking about electric racing cars! I know electric cars have nothing to do with the Fast and the Furious franchise but hey, it’s about racing and I’d say that’s close enough right?! Perhaps, I just need to come up with a way to use a Fast and Furious quote from time to time! Enough about the franchise with a million sequels! Today, we’re diving into electric racing cars and Formula E! What’s Formula E you may ask? Well, it is a single-seater racing championship but strictly for electric vehicles! Like the video says, it’s pretty much a computer on wheels! Check out this cool video and then we’ll move onto the featured sentence!

Today’s featured sentence:
“That might sound marginal, but shaving two minutes of non-productive time is absolutely critical.”

I’ll say that again.

“That might sound marginal, but shaving two minutes of non-productive time is absolutely critical.”

Ok, now time for the Pronunciation Tips.

Pronunciation Tips:

First word.
Marginal (maar · juh · nuhl)
Three syllables. First syllable is Mar, second is juh (like a short “u” sound) and nal, (like the word null, “n u l l”.) Marginal.

Next one is a linking phrase!
Non-productive (non-prow · duhk · tuhv)
Productive has three syllables. First non (so just say “on” with an “n” in front), then pro (as in you’re a pro!), duhk (as in duct tape), tuhv (like the word “if” but with a “t” in front). Non-productive

And our last one for pronunciation would be:
Absolutely (ab·suh·loot·lee)
Four syllables. Ab (as in the muscle abs, ab), suh (has the short “u” sound), loot (as in treasure, loot), and lee. Absolutely.

Moving onto Vocabulary!

The first word is:
1. Marginal (adj.) KK[ˋmɑrdʒɪn!] IPA/ˈmɑːdʒɪnl/
Definition
very small in amount or effect
Used in a sentence you could say,
“The report suggests that there has only been a marginal improvement in women's pay over the past few years."

Next word,
2. Productive (adj.) KK[prəˋdʌktɪv] IPA[prəˈdʌktɪv]
Definition
resulting in or providing a large amount or supply of something
An example would be,
“He had an amazingly productive five years in which he managed to write four novels.”

And lastly,
3. Critical (adj.) KK[ˋkrɪtɪk!] IPA [ˈkrɪtɪkl]
Definition:
saying that someone or something is bad or wrong
Used in a sentence you can say:
“I had to make a critical decision.”

Outro
So like the driver in the clip says, can you imagine a world in which everyone is driving electric cars? The world would definitely benefit from this technology and I only hope I’m around to experience it by then! Well, I hope we’re all around to see firsthand how this technology can benefit mankind! Perhaps there’ll be Fast and Furious part 50 by then. You never know people. That franchise never runs out of crazy ideas! Alright, record your recordings people and perhaps you can leave some comments telling me what you think about this technology is capable of! The sky’s the limit! Meaning there are no limits and that everything is possible! If you guys wanna find me on instagram, it’s huberttran. Stop by and say hi! Alright, see you next time on pronunciation challenge! Bye!

MY host is hubert, He talks about how electric racing cars have no resemblance to the movie "fast and furious" because cars are like a computer with wheels. I think it is dangerous to drive a race car.
