Yuan Zai's first media appearance saw her snub most of the toys provided instead choosing to clamber over logs under the watchful eye of her mother Yuan Yuan. The 6-month-old is the first cub of a pair of giant pandas donated by China in 2008, and weighs just over 14 kilograms The cub, who currently sleeps for about 20 hours each day, is expected to attract around 19,000 visitors a day to Taipei Zoo with many visitors taking time off school for the eagerly anticipated debut.
