  • Natural boots.

  • Do you think you need to become a proficient medical receptionist?

  • So this question is assessing your knowledge of the role and to see whether you've actually read the job description on it's focusing on the skills, qualities natural.

  • There is a long queue of patients at the desk.

  • The phone is ringing on.

  • A doctor is waiting to speak to you.

  • Which order would you prioritize them and why?

  • So I'll just repeat that question Too difficult.

  • One.

  • There is a long queue of patients at the medical receptionist desk.

  • The phone is ringing and a doctor is also waiting to speak to you.

  • Which order would you prioritize them and why?

  • Here's my suggested answer. 00:03:58.620 --> 00:04:3.940 I would speak to the doctor first of all, because his or her requests must always come first. 00:04:3.950 --> 00:04:9.680 I don't feel it would be appropriate to keep the doctor waiting as they obstruct time slots to see patients.

  • If they kept waiting, it only hinders their working day.

  • Second, I would check in the patients as they have been waiting longer than the person on the telephone, I would imagine there is a telephone answering service, which will play a message after a certain length of time explaining that we are extremely busy on the caller could leave a message and asked to be called back then.

  • Once I've dealt with the patients, I would call the caller back, and that shows that you can think on your feet.

  • But more importantly, you can prioritize the correct tasks accordingly.

  • Okay, so I've got a few more questions to go through, so do stick around.

  • But if you'd like to download the full set of 21 interview questions and answers for your medical receptionist interview, there's a link there appeared right now at the top, right out on the corner of that video, and it will take you through to my website, where you could download all of the questions and answers for your medical receptionist.

  • interview.

  • Next question. 00:04:59.780 --> 00:05:4.390 Tell me what you expect to be doing in the role of medical receptionist on a daily basis. 00:05:4.570 --> 00:05:6.790 So we've already looked at the skills, qualities, natch, boots. 00:05:6.790 --> 00:05:9.150 It's now assessing What do you know about the role? 00:05:9.200 --> 00:05:29.250 To his my suggested answer, the tasks and duties will be many and varied, including welcoming patients of visitors to the establishment, booking in appointments and managing schedules and also responding to requests from doctors, Nurses and medical staff will also be providing patients and visitors with appropriate advice in line with the constraints of the position.

  • Directing and guiding people as and when needed, and ensuring availability of treatment rooms and also retrieving patient information.

  • Maintained patient records competently.

  • I will also be required to maintain confidentiality all times, comfort patients when needed, respond to emergencies as and when they happen, maintain office in venture records and also maintain operational practices whilst protecting patient rights.

  • And that shows that you have an in depth knowledge of this particular role.

  • Next question. 00:05:57.440 --> 00:06:5.950 So why do you think a person may appear to be frustrated or even angry or aggressive now during this particular role? 00:06:5.950 --> 00:06:9.120 It's quite stressful as you can understand, people will be upset. 00:06:9.120 --> 00:06:12.840 There'll be anxious, and they might come across as being frustrated.

  • So this that this question assesses your understanding of why they may become a cross like this during whilst you're dealing with them at the medical receptionist desk.

  • So here's my answer.

  • In this type of medical environment, people will understandably become angry and or frustrated.

  • They are often anxious, confused and upset, and therefore their rationale for normal thinking is often impaired.

  • I expect to have to deal with.

  • People were both upset, distressed, frustrated and even angry on a daily basis.

  • And it will be my job to utilize effective communication skills to Eva, calm them down.

  • Comfort them will prevent their feelings from deteriorating further.

  • It would also be my job to learn and develop the appropriate skills and operational procedures when dealing with situations like this, and I feel my own resilience and confidence will enable me to do this.

  • So that's a good answer. 00:07:0.160 --> 00:07:5.090 It shows that you understand why people might get frustrated in this kind of role because they're not well. 00:07:5.320 --> 00:07:6.380 There'll be frustrated. 00:07:6.380 --> 00:07:16.570 They might become impatient, so you have to deal with it doesn't mean that you have to deal with aggression at all because there will be operational procedures there to deal with situations like that.

  • And that's why I've said at the end it would be my job to learn and develop the skills and the operational procedures when dealing with those kind of situations.

  • That's a great answer to that question.
