Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Lesson 308. All right.
The title of today's lesson is "Don't Do an Offer, Say Make an Offer.
" You can also say give an offer too.
So all right.
Again, with the X here this is wrong.
If someone says I cannot do you a better offer.
You know, most foreigners or Westerners may understand that.
But it is not really proper English.
It's not correct English.
It sounds like your English ability is not the best.
So , you should say , I cannot make you a better offer.
I cannot give you a better offer.
So both of these with the check this is right.
All right here.
You can say this.
I cannot give you a better deal.
That sounds even the best of all of these.
So, you can say any of those.
Again with the X.
Let's see this one.
This is the best offer I can possibly do.
You might hear this one.
Again it is not really quite proper.
It sounds a little better than the first one.
But again , it is not really proper.
So you should say this is the best offer, I can possibly make.
This is the best offer I can possibly give.
So both of these two with the check . These are fine.
These are good.
And the last one here.
We can also say this.
This is the best offer I have the authority to give.
That is probably what you mean, especially in business deals.
You might be doing this.
You know When you say a certain offer.
So again, just try to avoid to say to do an offer.
Again the Westerner would probably understand it , but it is better to say make or give.
Anyway, I hope you got it.
I hope it is clear . Thank you for your time.
