  • Hoards of young people took to the streets, warning about the perils of ignoring environmental issues.

  • In several languages, their signs proclaimed "there's no planet B", a phrase used by French President Emmanuel Macron while speaking to members of Congress about the Paris climate accords last April.

  • The movement behind the protests began with one Swedish teen, Greta Thunberg, who protested on her own before sparking these far-reaching demonstrations.

  • Adults attended the rallies.

  • But the people who organized and led the marches? Those were high schoolers.
