  • Hi everyone, welcome to Tainan Park!

  • This park is the largest park in Tainan City,

  • it actually was open

  • during Japanese colonization exactly 100 years ago.

  • This year is the 100th birthday of this park.

  • As you can see today, in the mornings,

  • a lot of elders like to exercise here,

  • but not only is this a place for people to exercise, play, and have fun in,

  • there's also a special place inside this park

  • that I really want to show you.

  • This is Tainan Children's Science Museum,

  • not a lot of tourists would notice this place

  • but as kids we actually come here on field trips often

  • and it is definitely a place worth discovering.

  • Let's go find out more!

  • Tainan Children's Science Museum opened in 1978 to the public.

  • In 2014, this place was renovated and reopened.

  • This year, in 2017, to celebrate the park's 100th anniversary,

  • they designed a special exhibition.

  • This is Tainan Children's Science Museum.

  • This entire first floor

  • is packed with the exhibition, “The Adventures of Park.”

  • The Adventures of Park?” You might wonder

  • Well, Park right here, is our little seed,

  • and this story tells the journey

  • of his throughout the entire Tainan Park.

  • There are various games, interactions, and designs

  • for visitors to learn more about

  • the ecology, the history, and views of this park,

  • as well as grow more connected to the nature here.

  • Right now I'm walking inside this huge white cage.

  • This is the part of the story where Park is imagining himself

  • locked inside a cage as an animal.

  • and you see all these eyes and animals and children staring at him.

  • And here you see Park shedding a tear. It's really sad.

  • I think this is a very interesting part of the design and exhibition

  • because you are actually inside the cage.

  • So you can imagine and put yourself

  • into perspective what is happening in the story right now.

  • Wow,

  • this is a mini map of Tainan Park.

  • This is so colorful.

  • There are even QR codes on the floor

  • where you can interact with them!

  • Let's try it.

  • this is actually a 360 degree angle of where we were at the park.

  • Look! This is the lake where we were at.

  • This is the playground.

  • Playground! This is the place that the grandmas dancing at.

  • Really interesting and cool!

  • After the exhibition, I wanted to follow the storyline

  • and visit Tainan Park by myself.

  • Here I am, under the magical Tree of Hope.

  • I can also imagine Little Park

  • swinging and dancing through the branches.

  • No matter if you're from Tainan City or not,

  • you should definitely find some time to pay a visit to this park,

  • maybe you'll have a new discovery yourself!
