You know that time when you've doubted yourself and you're like, "Is there space for me?

Present continuous

Should I be launching the thing?" It seems like everyone else is doing it.

Well, that's exactly what we're talking about in today's episode of Dear Jamie, so buckle up, let's go, get your coffee,

Dear Jamie, I feel I'm ready for my next step in packaging my expertise in an offer and running it passively.

A part of me denies that because I feel like it'll take away the intimacy to be in touch with my people.

Another part says, "Who's going to buy it when the internet is packed with selling courses?" This is really exciting.

I think that there is such a beautiful thing when we're like, "You know what, I have something that really works, especially with my one-to-one clients," and the ability to be able to take a piece of that and be able to have it ripple out and be able to support more people,

and for you to be a little bit more intentional with your time, right?

When you are only doing one-to-ones, when you are only selling your time and your experience, there comes a moment when you're like, "Maybe this is just too much.

Maybe there's a way that I can continue supporting people while just being a little bit more mindful of my time." And it doesn't mean you have to get rid of your time entirely;

you just get to package it a little bit differently.

I see a lot of people that will start to package up a piece of their one-to-one and make it a little bit more of a bite-sized transformation and not the full transformation,

and they make their one-to-one or their group coaching more of the luxury package,

and then they have a little bit more of an entry space, more of something that someone can do in a self-paced way, or adding community to it.

When you say there is a part of you that feels that you might lose the intimacy of that, I want you to take this into consideration.

After working with thousands of clients that have been one-to-one service providers or one-to-one coaches or whatever the case is for their one-to-one packages, they have felt very similarly to you, so I want to validate the fact that you feel that way and that it's very common,

and there's a few things you want to take into consideration with it.

and which is very common, is the fear of having the lack of intimacy with your clients could be potentially—I'm not saying this is exactly it for you—there's a little bit of self-investigation and self-inquiry that is going to be important here for you.

A lot of times when we've grown up and maybe there's been more responsibility put on us or more times where more was asked of us, a lot of times when we are younger, it starts to embed into our identity as this feeling of being needed and feeling important by having that responsibility and being the one that someone can go to.

And when we start to do these one-to-one services, you're getting a direct impact of feeling important and validated and seeing the impact happen right in front of your eyes.

So when we start to think that, "How can I still impact people but maybe not directly with my time?" I want you to remember that your importance and your impact doesn't change;

it just changes in terms of the depth of one-to-ones versus now you're still very much in the equation with having a digital education platform.

You're still very much in the equation of supporting people; it just looks a little bit different.

You are still the one that they're learning from.

You're still the one that is creating the safe containers and the safe spaces,

and there's still so much that you are bringing to the table,

and all of your knowledge and all of your value never goes away even when it's not directly one-to-one.

And you still get to do your one-to-ones if you want to.

I have tons of clients who just do one-to-ones or group coaching,

and then they still have their digital courses on the side as well,

and it's more of an entry place into their business so people can get a little bit more of an instant win or a big transformation.

It's a really great place for people to learn from you, build trust from you,

and then eventually maybe do deeper integrative work with you or move up the scale and do group coaching with you or something of that nature.

So I just want you to remember that you are never losing intimacy with your clients.

You are so much a part of that equation that there's just no way that could be lost, like, ever.

When it comes to putting something new out there, I think it's really common to think, right, "Who's going to buy?

There's so many people doing courses." Now, whether you are writing a book, whether you were launching retreats, whether you were doing something new, the brain is always going to run a fear filter.

It's going to do everything it can to keep you in the familiar zone, which is maybe create more doubt, create more scarcity, create more of a, "Is there space for me?

Is there the ability to do this?" And that's just because your body is literally trying to keep you exactly as you are.

but the brain loves being in the familiar, so when you're asking your body and your brain to go outside of what it knows, it's going to say, "Well, wait, there's so many other people.

Where would the opportunity come from?" And guess what happens?

When you listen to it and when you are going to try to find proof of that because the brain is always going to find proof of whatever your doubts are or your beliefs are, it's going to keep you exactly as you are.

One thing that I'll remind you of is every single person who is doing anything new, every single one of them, is going to have some kind of doubt because you're essentially stepping into newness, an unfamiliar zone.

And if there is space for thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of authors, and

there's space for so many people to be successful, why are you any different?

There's people becoming successful every single day,

and the most important thing is that you believe that you can be, that you know that there's enough space for you.

And if you already have proof that people are hiring you, you already have a community of people who would be willing to continue to buy from you and to invest from you.

And a lot of times what I have to say about this is I want you to change the word courses.

I want you to just throw it out of the vocabulary for a second because I think that there's so many times where that gets a bad wrap,

Just like YouTube is a vehicle, just like a book is a vehicle, just like a classroom is a vehicle, it's almost like saying, "Well, who would buy my one-to-ones?

Who would buy this?" There are people buying every single day regardless of the vehicle because it's not the vehicle that they buy, it's you.

So whether you're writing a book, whether you are launching a retreat, whether you are creating an in-person facility, whether you're launching an educational program, you hold the power.

Those are the main things that you focus on.

I suppose the question is, do you believe it's possible?

Because I can guarantee you that you may have had the same doubts around opening your business and around having one-to-one services,

Okay, the last thing I'm going to say is I'm so proud of you.

And most importantly, if you need to, put your blinders up.

Don't look at what everyone else is doing.

Focus on the version of your life that you want.

And anytime doubt comes in, anytime fear comes in, meet it with love.
