Our own John Miller getting this information for us as well, that emergency responders apparently found a large amount of explosives in the back of the vehicle, which just gives you even more insight into the sinister nature of what happened here.

Again, finding a large amount of explosives in the back of this suspect's vehicle.

The same suspect who rammed his car into the.

Into Temple Israel there and then was immediately encountered by security there on the ground, who were able to take him out by shooting him.

And another bit of interesting information just to give you the state of the.

The type of society that we're now living in and what Jewish groups have to deal with.

Just about several weeks ago, about five weeks ago, we are also learning that Temple Israel actually participated in an active shooter drill there at the temple.

Folks there who work at the facility had organized just to prepare in case something awful like this had actually happened.

We're also hearing that the nypd, New York City Police Department, is tracking the situation, and

out of an abundance of caution, as they often do when situations like this happen, they are deploying resources into high visibility Jewish buildings and facilities here in New York City.

But once again, just a little bit more information about the sinister nature of what happened with this suspect.

Apparently, again, according to multiple law enforcement sources on the ground, they found explosives, a large amount of explosives in the back of that suspect's vehicle.

I want to bring back in Andy McCabe, because, Andy, when we talked to you just a few minutes ago, one of the things you said you were watching is, what more will we learn about what was in this car?

And now we are getting these new layers that Jason's reporting there that there were a large amount of explosives in the back of that car.

Clearly that suspect hoping to do a lot of damage there.

And this is the sort of facts that we're looking for that really change the texture of how this looks from an investigator or a law enforcement officer's perspective.

The presence of explosives changes this math equation significantly, because now you're talking about a much higher degree of preparation and planning and also some degree of knowledge, of experience, of training in how to assemble explosives.

We don't know exactly what he had or how complicated or advanced those devices were.

They can be fairly rudimentary for things like black powder devices.

And IEDs all the way up to, you know, plastic explosives and things that are more commonly seen, you know, in theaters of war.

We don't know what was in the back of that vehicle yet.

But again, just having some sort of explosive devices or explosive material shows us this person spent a lot of time planning and preparing.

They may have had assistance in procuring those items.

They may have had training in how to assemble whatever is there and how to deploy those things.

So I think as time goes on, we're only getting more concerned about what this person's motivation might have been and how they got to this point of acting.

Today looks less and less like just a rash, violent act that somebody committed in a fit of pique or grievance.

This is like the terrorism investigators, counterterrorism investigators are going to be looking very closely at this.

Well, let's bring back Donnell to get your reaction to that news.

We just heard from Jason that apparently a significant number of explosives were found in the vehicle that this suspect used to ram into Temple Israel.

Yeah, Andy hit the nail on the head there.

I do want to add that this is similar, Boris, to what you and I were talking about last year with the LDS attack.

That perpetrator rammed the LDS church, had weapons that were long arm weapons.

This doesn't happen in the US that was the first time, the LDS attack where we saw three different modes of vehicle ramming, an active shooter, and

And we're seeing this now, this is straight out of the playbook of Al Qaeda or isis.

They have publications that they put online telling individuals to do these type of attacks.

Vehicle rammings being in most simple one, if you can get a firearm, go and use that.

If you can combine those attacks, it's even more effective to add a third or fourth type of attack.

Either fire or explosives makes it very, very deadly.

And it indicates that this individual was not just someone who just rationally, as Andy said, came up with an idea.

This is going to help law enforcement to make a bomb is not something you can do in an afternoon.

And so they'll be able to track down the materials, how he acquired the knowledge, perhaps online, and

they may be able to get to whether this individual acted alone, no kids.

This is the important thing no kids or no staff was injured whatsoever.

So we have no victims other than one of the lead security people was hit by the car and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

So so far, that's our information to this point.

More than likely we'll be taking the lead on this based on some of the preliminary investigative information we have, but

we're not going to go into that at this point.

But we want to assure the community it doesn't appear to be anything active.

We're going to clear vehicles for any explosive devices, the building, etc.

Unification of the families and the kids are in progress.

We've accounted for everybody that we believe was in the building at the time.

So we're on path to continue to maybe pivot to.

Is there anybody else involved and the investigative side of what's happened?

You can affirm that it was security that shot and killed the suspect here?

Well, we can't say what killed him at this point, but security did engage the suspect with gunfire.

We can't get into a lot of that stuff, but

he breached the building, drove down the hall, and

Preliminarily, we have some information, but nothing that we confirmed, so we're not going to go into it.

Where did he breach the building in front?

He drove in through doors with a vehicle.

There was only one person in that vehicle?

We're through an abundance of caution, clearing the vehicle for IEDs or any explosives.

We've got a significant number of bomb dogs on site, bomb tech on site, and

all of that's going to be done to check the boxes.

We have deployed resources all across the county just in case, out of an abundance of caution, that there may be a secondary site, but

we don't have any information at this time to believe that.

Everything that was supposed to happen happened.
