I'm Patrick Baboomyan and I'm a vegan strength athlete.

Growing up, Patrick loved superheroes like the Hulk and wanted to be like them.

I love strength training because after my dad and my sister died in a car crash, it became my mission to be strong enough to protect people if they were in danger.

But to become the Hulk, Patrick had to eat a lot of meat.

He ate 1 chicken, 30 raw eggs, 3 kg of yogurt, and

sometimes drank up to 10 liters of milk every single day.

That's what everybody did, and that's what everybody told me to do.

But everything changed on the day he rescued a crow.

I had to take him in and take care of him.

That's when he started wondering, how could he love this bird so much but at the same time be okay with killing and eating hundreds of chickens?

It didn't make sense, and he decided to give up meat overnight.

I was vegetarian for six years before I went vegan.

At that time, I was really afraid to lose all my muscle and strength if I wouldn't consume eggs and dairy.

Over time, he did more research and eventually became completely vegan.

Milk especially can reduce your body's ability to absorb iron.

So the very thing that I thought was helping me build muscle and strength was actually holding me back.

So he replaced milk with soy milk, eggs with beans, and chicken with tofu, and something crazy happened.

He recovered from his workouts faster, and his blood pressure became lower.

Most bodybuilders and strength athletes have problems with high blood pressure.

The amount of muscle that we hold needs to be supplied with blood, and

He got so strong that eventually he became the strongest man in Germany and even broke multiple world records.

I was strong before, but I got way stronger after going vegan.

The truth is, Patrick didn't go vegan to prove a point or to become famous.

And his actions have inspired thousands of bodybuilders and weightlifters all around the world to go vegan.

I had this idea in my head that you have to drink milk and eat meat to be strong, but

Patrick shows us that being strong isn't just about having huge muscles and carrying heavy weights.
