As part of the same program on Sunday, State President Leung Kong and his spouse joined more than 100 overseas Vietnamese delegates in a series of Homeland Spring 2026 activities.

As part of this year's Homeland Spring Program taking place just ahead of the Langini and Kitchen Gods Festival, the overseas Vietnamese delegates are carrying out one of its most meaningful traditions with which is releasing carp into Hoan Kiem Lake, symbolically sending the Land Genie and the Kitchen Gods back to heaven ahead of Lunar New Year.

Despite the cold and rainy weather in Hanoi this morning, the delegates remain enthusiastic.

Many say this experience is helping them feel closer to their roots and to home.

State President Leun Goong and his spouse, together with the leaders of Hanoi, the Ministry of Foreign affairs, other central agencies and representatives of overseas Vietnamese, performed a traditional ritual marking the Land Genie and Kitchen Gods Festival, praying for peace, prosperity and well being for the nation and its people.

I am Vietnamese from the Cham ethnic group in Ansang and a Muslim, so I had never experienced the carb release ritual before.

Today was a completely new and meaningful experience for me.

On the same day, overseas Vietnamese delegates laid grafts and paid tribute at President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum and later offered incense at the Litai Do Monument.

These activities not only strengthened their connection with the homeland, but

also created opportunities for overseas Vietnamese communities to further connect with one another.

The most meaningful aspect of the Homeland Spring Program is not only bringing overseas Vietnamese back to Vietnam, but

also giving us the chance to meet, exchange ideas and build stronger global connections for future cooperation and contributions to the country.

Through the event, the party, State and government of Vietnam reaffirmed their commitment to listening, to, valuing and creating favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to stay connected and contribute.

We want to convey that overseas Vietnamese are a valuable resource and an inseparable part of the nation, with an even greater role to play in Vietnam's development, while also strengthening their standing in their host countries.

With the theme Vietnam's Aspiration Peace and Prosperity, Homeland Spring 2026 is expected to further promote the spirit of of remembering one's roots and reinforce the trust, connection and shared commitment of nearly 6.5 million overseas Vietnamese to contribute to a strong, prosperous and happy Vietnam in its new stage of development.

Lunar New Year is a time for families to come together and for many Vietnamese living abroad, it's a chance to return home and reconnect with the festive spirit, spirit, culture and traditions of the country.

And that is exactly what The Homeland Spring 2026 was about this program an artistic and meaningful event dedicated to overseas Vietnamese.

Held last Sunday in Hanoi, it brought together around 1,500 outstanding overseas Vietnamese along with the special attendance from State President Leun Gong and his spouse.

Held under the theme Vietnam's Peace and Prosperity, the program conveyed a powerful message.

Aspiration reflects nation's strong spirit of progress.

Peace represents the core value and foundation for sustainable development and international integration, while Prosperity symbolizes the goal of building a fast growing, sustainable and prosperous Vietnam.

The State President highlighted the country's achievements and major milestones in 2025, affirming that the presence and contributions of overseas Vietnamese are vivid proof of national unity and solidarity.

He stressed that Vietnamese people, whether at home or abroad, are all descendants of the Lakong bloodline, forming an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation.

For many overseas Vietnamese, the Special Homeland Spring 2026 is also an annual event where they return once again to experience the beauty of Vietnamese arts and culture.

I'm now at Vietnam's National Convention center where the cultural program Homeland Spring 2026 has just taken place under the theme Vietnam's Aspiration, Peace and prosperity.

More than 1,500 overseas Vietnamese from around the world gathered here tonight.

The spectacular show has left a lasting impression, bringing this year's home and spring celebrations to a memorable and successful close.

I'm actually really overwhelmed by how beautiful the show actually went.

There was a lot of beautiful artists, songs that remind us of the Death in Vietnam.

A great way to showcase the beautiful culture from north to south presented during the show.

Today's show was outstanding and clearly different from previous years with a much more modern approach.

Programs like this demonstrate how promoting culture also means strengthening a nation's potential as overseas cultural practitioners.

We hope to further professionalize community cultural activities abroad.

The program, featuring well known songs rearranged in a modern style, highlighted love for the homeland, national pride and the shared aspiration to build the country while expressing confidence in Vietnam's bright future and deep appreciation for its cultural and historical heritage.

I feel honored and proud to take part in such a meaningful artistic program.

Through music, the show has connected traditional and modern values while bringing together audiences at home and overseas Vietnamese communities around the world.

The Homeland Spring 2026 music show left a lasting impression, bringing to a close three days of vibrant activities and reaffirming the important role of overseas Vietnamese in Vietnam's next stage of national development.
