This mammoth solar farm was built in record time in Longyuan two years ago.

We've since installed 6 million solar panels, 2 million of them, in the space of less than six months.

The electricity produced is then Transported to Hunan, 1700 kilometers away.

Now it's producing blades of up to 130 meters in length, and

other components, rotors, nacelles and hubs, churning them out at breakneck speed.

A single turbine takes five days to produce.

We manufacture about 800 units per year, but that can go up to 1,200.

Blades are made out of composite materials in these gigantic molds.

And outside the factory, they are already preparing the next generation of turbine blade, which will have to face wind speeds of up to 120km per hour.

We are carrying out a resilience test on this new model.

The blade needs to have been bent back and forth more than 4 million times.

China is installing solar and wind capacity at the same rate as the rest of the world combined, and

in doing so, aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 7 to 10%.

But despite this, the country is far from kicking its fossil fuel habit.

On the contrary, its coal consumption is on the rise, accounting for 60% of Chinese electricity.
