I'm Lebanese, which means I grew up eating shawarma the way it's supposed to taste.

But now I live in Hollywood where everyone thinks putting grilled chicken in a wrap with ranch sauce counts.

I've been feeling a little homesick lately and I think the right sandwich can fix it.

So today I'm hitting five of the most highly rated shawarma places in Hollywood on my scooter.

I'm on a mission to find the best one at each stop.

I'm ordering a classic shawarma chicken sandwich and I'm rating it on my very serious, highly scientific, extremely accurate scale.

I'm not expecting Lebanon level sandwiches, but I'm hoping at least one of these places gets it right.

Can I please have the chicken shawarma wrap?

So this place has a 4.7 stars on Google and this is a central Asian cuisine.

I think they put some sort of coleslaw inside.

I can taste the cabbage and the tomato, but

I think the sauce that I thought was garlic is actually mayonnaise.

I've never had charm with this bread, so I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

1 out of 5 stars and the overall taste of 4 out of 5 stars.

Their website says Albash Mediterranean cuisine is always served with a small mile.

It also says they have a home cooked feel.

The owner is Lebanese and I was welcomed with a smile.

I got a chicken shawarma sandwich for $8.77 and because I spoke in Arabic and he knew I was Lebanese, I got an apple juice for free.

I can see the I think lettuce and the chicken and tomato.

Like it doesn't look like iceberg lettuce.

The bread is perfectly in between, soft and crunchy.

The garlic didn't taste like it was mixed with mayonnaise.

I dropped my shawarma chicken sandwich on the ground, but

the owner said he wants to make me another one.

I can just cut off where it touched the ground.

But he was very insistent on making me another one.

I'm going to cry as you go, so just wrap.

This is a different kind of bread, but the shawarma looks really grilled, so I'm excited.

It has chicken, garlic, tomatoes, lettuce, and that's it.

And the vegetables taste like vegetables.

I think this bread doesn't get as soggy as the pita bread.

I can definitely taste the mayonnaise and the garlic or something creamy.

It tastes very charred and smoky, which I love.
