This is, like, making me reconsider my whole career.

I'm the wine director at Manuelo Downtown LA.

Today we'll be blind ranking 10 of the most popular wines.

Also, after the blind taste test, we're going to give our personal recommendations for wines under $15.

To start, we're going to do five white win.

Typically, when you're tasting, you want to use your sight, your smell and your palate.

We can see that it's light, straw, gold in color.

It was most likely produced in, like, a steel barrel.

Really what steel does in the process of making wines.

It really holds on to all of those fresh fruit flavors.

All of the aroma that I smelled on the wine.

I can still taste the wine after I've already spit it out.

I think it would go really well with a lot of food.

My first smell and taste of this wine, I think very, very approachable white wine pretty much for everybody, which is kind of great.

The other wine was, like, melon and citrus and peaches.

This wine smells like a Werther's original.

You could have wine that's made in this style.

That's much more elegant for not that much more.

That's, like, expensive stuff to do, right?

There's, like, food scientists and stuff who are hired to create products like this.

They took a lot of shortcuts here to impart a lot of flavor in a little bit of time.

You get things that are out of balance, unfortunate.

Simply because it's somebody's thing, but not my thing.

Why number three, look at the color of this wine.

This is what we call water white in the biz.

The color of the wine is notable in relationship to guessing the grape variety.

I think that this could be super, super basic.

I don't get any Lee's contact, though, and

I think that that would be, like, typical of a Pinot Grigio.

Typical Pinot Grigio that we would drink.

A lot of people, when they come to the restaurant, they want the sensation of moreness.

A wine like this, I think leaves people wanting more.

Rank this wine more of, like, a 5 out of 10.

And also, when it was poured, there were some bubbles, and

usually that's an indicator of the way that it was bottled.

Generally, less expensive wines will have less expensive packaging.

But also, stylistically, there are a few places that they do have twist caps that make wines of high quality.

And that would be like, Germany and Austria.

Definitely not anything against those wines, because those are some of our favorite wines in the world.
