Past simple

In the past month, I made a few videos where I've been trying on prom dresses that I've gotten online.

It seems like a lot of you guys enjoyed those videos and found them helpful.

So in today's video, I'm going to be trying on prom dresses that I got on Wish.

Now, I know it's towards the end of prom season, but

I ordered these dresses about a month ago and it took a while to come to me.

So finally I got them a few days ago and I thought that it would be a waste if I didn't film this video for you guys.

I'll go into more detail at the end of the video in terms of shipping.

The reason why I started making these videos is because when you shop online, especially on these Chinese stores, what you see in the picture may not be what you get in person.

I personally have shopped on a lot of these Chinese websites because they are very cheap.

Sometimes you get something that looks almost the same as the picture.

Sometimes you get something completely different.

But sometimes these clothes are so cheap that you just can't help it.

So I thought by making videos like this, it'll be helpful for you guys if you guys are also interested in purchasing on these cheap websites so you will know what you will get.

But in today's video, I am going to be trying on five different prom dresses that I got on Wish.

All the dresses that I have gotten from Wish are all under $20, so they are very affordable.

And on the website it says originally it was $120.

Now, if you guys watched my previous Wish video, you will know that Wish puts like outrageous prices as the original price and selling price really cheap.

So it makes it look like you're getting a better deal than you actually are.

I don't have a good feeling about this and I'm kind of regretting getting these dresses already because this dress does not look anything like the photo.

This is the biggest problem when you are shopping online.

So the problem with these Chinese stores is that they take and steal photos from a lot of different websites and then they try and replicate the item.

sometimes it can look nothing like the photo and just look like a really, really cheap copy.

Unfortunately, in this case, it looks like a cheap copy of an item.

I mean, if you look at the photo and this, it's very obvious.

This is like a bright red color, whereas in the photo, it is a dark wine red color that looks really nice.

With the material used, it actually feels really comfortable.

However, the material in the picture and the material in person is completely different.

First of all, the sleeves in the picture, the model has sheer see through sleeves with some floral detailing, but

It's quite big, so I got this in a size small.

However, the one I received, it's still quite big.

As you can see, I can grab quite a lot of it.

In the picture, it looks like there is a ribbon that ties around the back.

So I guess going from this material to this satin material, it just looks quite cheap because there's no detailing to kind of separate these two.

And also in the photo, the dress just looks really fitted around the waist area.

It gives the model some shape, so it looks really good on her.

But on me, like, there's just no shape, so it looks very bland.

And I just feel like it doesn't look good at all.

There's a lot more material in the picture because the skirt kind of flows out a lot.

Also, one thing I want to tell you guys is that I am short.

And in the past, all the other dresses I've tried on, they were way too long for me.

Which is good though, because if you are taller, then it would be okay.

Now, this dress, Even though I'm 155cm, it doesn't even touch the floor for me.

Like, let me show you guys with the piano stool.

But as you guys can see, it doesn't even touch the floor for me.

So if you are taller, the dress will be very short on you.

Because in the photo, it looks like it's a very long dress and it's supposed to touch the floo that is dress number one.

So when I first put on this dress, I had to take it off straight away and put on a sports bra because this front part here is really, really see through.

I'm not sure if you can tell with this lighting look how see through that is.

The annoying thing is that in the photo, it's not supposed to be see through.

So the photo looks like the dress is held together by some spaghetti straps.

This is not a spaghetti strap in the picture, the detailing looks like it's white, thick material that is not see through.

But this one here, they use the sheer material, and

then they just put some detailing on top, which looks completely different to the photo.

The top part of the dress, the material feels comfortable.

However, the bottom part of the dress, it feels so itchy.

So they used some organza, it looks like, at the bottom, to try and replicate the flowiness of the skirt, but

The organza they used just feels really heavy, and

the skirt part just feels really itchy, especially around your waist.

Sizing wise, I got this dress in a size extra small, but

I don't think it's an extra small size because it is quite big.

As you can see, there is a lot of material space here.

So if I pulled it back, I mean, I don't think I can make this dress look better because it just looks so different to the original.

And yeah, you can just see the separation between the size skirt and the top part as well.

Unfortunately, this is another dress that I have to say no to.

This one was $9, and originally it was $18.

So the price is a bit more believable now, despite this dress being a lot cheaper than the first two dresses I just tried on, I actually really like this dress.

Comparing this dress to the photo, it looks similar.
