You're not unkind for saying no, you're simply learning to stop abandoning yourself.

You build resentment, but you're too nice to show it.

Resentment doesn't always come out as an outburst.

Sometimes it simmers quietly underneath your smile.

When you're too kind for too long, swallowing your hurt, shelving your needs, a slow bitterness can creep in.

And because you're the nice one, you might feel guilty even acknowledging it.

Guilt often shows up when we care deeply about others.

But if that guilt keeps you from honoring your needs, it may be time to reevaluate what it's trying to protect.

But resentment needs to be acknowledged or else it'll fester.

But when your guilt overrides your needs, it becomes toxic.
