I'm so excited to speak to you right now because we're going to talk about your incredible performance and sentimental value.

But it's a great year for you in general because you also released a Andor this year.

It's kind of been, I think, a pretty great year for the Skarsgrd crew in general.

But you've definitely been leading the charge.

And Alexander is out with Pillion now, and Gus Van Sant's latest film has Bill in it, so.

I know, but talk about this year for you and how satisfying it's been to have these two.

I mean, Andor is something that you've worked several years, but

then I think with Sentimental Value, this is a film that really precious to you, what you've been able to do with it.

I mean, I really like that too, because it's such a.

Such a wonderful writing, and it was sort of a profound production.

It expanded the Star wars universe in a way.

That's one of the best roles I've ever had, and

it was written specifically for me, which tailor made.

So it's like wearing a very comfortable suit.

I would have to ask you, what is that like when you get a call from Joachim and you know, he's an incredible director and.

But there's some bit of pressure when somebody's like, I made this for you.

How did you feel after that conversation?

I mean, there's so much pressure anyway, so.

And also that you know that if it's written for you, it's more flexible because they can change it for you and they can really tailor make it for you.

He lets us decide and portray the character as we want once we're there.

One of the things I loved in the few conversations I've been having with Renate and Inga and some of the other folks involved in the film is how much y' all very much did not want the whole moment to stop.

And I've seen this great picture that Renate posted of you on the final day of set, which I know that y' all filmed.

Also one of the more climactic scenes of the movie.

When you did that, take us into that last day and what that was like for you, first of all, wrapping up this incredible project.

But also that scene which is such a great sort of bookend of the movie.

And I've been wary, nervous about that shot all the time.

It's just two people looking at each other.

And it can turn into very sappy and very sentimental ending.

The problems are not solved, but there is hope.

There's hope of reconciliation, and there's hope of forgiveness.

And that's the happiest thing you can hope for in anything in life.

But since we shot it the last thing in the.

We were sort of mentally prepared for it anyway.

So we just did five takes of it or something.

There's long gazes between me and Renata there and there.

There's this whole story being told while we're without words.

I mean, you also dream of it as a moviegoer.

I saw the film at Cannes, and I just kept thinking.

I was like, just when there's a great scene between you and Renate or Inga, then there's another great scene with you with Elle.

And I feel like just the scene partners you had in this.

Every time you were with someone, everybody was at the top of their game.

And I'd love for you to talk about With Elle, which I think is such a mad scene, too, because it's like.

It's this moment that maybe you've celebrated a movie like that at Cannes or one of these film festivals.

But you're having this very, I think, real conversation with.

I'd love for you to talk a little bit about that and filming it.

Because y' all filmed it at the Deauville Film Festival, right?

I mean, we did a lot of scenes there, actually.

It was much, much bigger, expanded than it was in the film.

Not because it was bad, because he'd already said everything that was needed.

I mean, we hadn't worked together before.

We're both child actors, so we know the business in that sense from the bottom and up.

But meeting her, and she immediately understood what the scene was about.

And we did have fun, except the wind and the cold, because it's not warm at Deauville in the.

And I know there's, like, a blanket and a heater, like, two feet outside.
