Here in Maine, we're in the Rangeley Lakes area, and

what's great about this place is there's no shortage of things to do outside.

There's kayaking and canoeing, hiking, biking.

Mountain biking has really gained popularity here in recent years.

And here at Bethel Village Trails, there's lots of twists and turns of little hills.

Right now we're on the Blueberry Mountain Trail.

This is a great hike because it offers stunning views of this mountainous region.

Plus, the trail's not too, too long, but it sure is steep.

From up here, you can see the Mount Blue State park and the Tumbledown Mountain Range right nearby.

I'm here at Seawall beach, one of my favorites.

because you walk in about two miles, you often have it all to yourself, or you at least escape the crowds.

Maine is famous for its fairs, and right now we're at the largest one, the Freiburg Fair.

These are Stan's French Fries, which are the official fries of the Freiburg fare.

When you're at a fair, you have to play a game.

When you come to Maine, you've gotta try an oyster.

I'm here at Arrows Oyster Farm, where you can actually pick your own.

There's some workers here on the dock, and

they said they'd teach me how to shuck these the correct way.

Some downward pressure and very light wiggling.

They have an upfront taste and they have a finish.

But you'll never taste the sweet if you don't chew the meat.

Many people are surprised at how many colorful gems are found in Maine.

And here in Bethel, you can see them all at the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum.
