We are in Shimokitazawa today which is a really trendy area to try out a ramen shop that was recommended to us.

Two major train lines intersect at Shimokitazawa bringing throngs of people in.

They come to see the unique and second hand resale shops the area is known for.

But first there's one in particular that we are excited to experience.

We actually originally looked at Shimoke Tazawa for the past coffee shop and it would have been cool.

But the location we found was much better for us.

On suggestion of some friends before moving to Japan.

I didn't know ramen chops were a big deal, but now I know better.

They make up a key part of Japanese food culture.

It didn't take us long to decide our order.

You can get these individuals or there's a. Oh, spice ramen.

And they also have a soupless one, but you can ask them to make it not so spicy.

Handling actual money and putting it into a physical vending machine to buy your food tickets is a part of the experience of a Japanese ramen shop.

We're gonna try a ginger ale and a craft cola.

It's kind of like curry and ramen fused together.

We turned in our meal tickets and it didn't take long before our drink orders came up.

Growing up with Heaven siblings, you have to make it perf.

I kind of my girlfriends when I drink ginger.

So the girls now, because of international school, have some holidays different than the japanese school calendar.

So they're off today, but no one else is.

So a perfect day to go around and explore.

And that's why Joshua and Sarah are in school right now.

Don't tell them that we're eating food without them.
