Let us tell you about the sights, the sounds, the smell, the taste and the feelings of Mongolia.

I'm Annie, the creative director of Lonely Planet, and I am here in Mongolia to see as much of the country as possible and get to know its senses through the people I meet along the way.

When you drive in Mongolia, every four or five hours you can see different landscapes.

Green grassland, forest mountains, desert, almost everything.

Mongolian ger is a dwelling that was created by our ancestors 5,000 years ago, suited for nomad lifestyle, and it's basically a wooden frame covered by wool felt.

By two people can build it up in one hour, and to put it down you only need half an hour.

In the central and almost everywhere across Mongolia, you'll see hundreds of thousands of sheep and goats.

Even for the animals, we keep them half wild.

We let them graze on the field on their own.

That's how our nomad lifestyle keeps going on, and it's a very sustainable method.

Mongolian bukh, or Mongolian wrestling, is one of the traditional sports inherited from the ancient time war training.

Every Mongolian kid's boys grew up practicing wrestling.

It doesn't have a weight space and time limit.

We are getting close to crowning a winner.

I have been doing this for 10 years, and I am a professional wrestler.

Mongolia created its own type of Buddhism, based on our original belief in Shamanism,   which is the Tibetan Buddhism brought from the Himalayan region.

Throat singing is a type of art that is performed by people who have great lung capacity, and muscular throat.

They try to imitate the beautiful sound of the whistling of the wind through the mountains.

Eventually, they developed the throat singing.

Mongolia tastes like homemade mother's food.

It's a dumpling with meat inside.   Mongolian food, traditional food, is a lot of meat.

A lot of Mongolians would agree that the Gobi meat is the best, because of the wild leek that grows on the Gobi desert.

The animals grazing on the field have the flavor seasoned already in their meat.

So when you cook a Mongolian barbecue, only salt is necessary.

All the other spices are in the meat itself.

The camel milk is a signature taste of the Gobi desert.

Camel milk has a very strong taste because of this strong onion, garlic grass.

It smells like dirt when you're traveling off-road.

Mongolia smells like burning, dried cow dung.

In the countryside, people burn the animal dung, so you smell the dung.

Mongolia feels like riding in a bumpy car.

When I'm driving around Mongolia, I feel freedom because there's no fences, no boundary, no trespassing.

The sand dunes in the Gobi Desert are one of Mongolia's most stunning landscapes.

With dunes as high as 100 feet, it's a bit of a hike, but the views are well worth it.

Mongolia also feels like centuries of tradition.

From a young age, our children learn the tradition and the culture from their parents and great-grandparents.

It's like a childhood dream to live in an ancient city.

I like to hang out with my friends and play artwork, so they turn up when I'm bored.

When I'm with friends, I know that I'm inspiring everyone here.

They will give you food, they will give you drink, they will offer you to stay with them.

They will give you everything they have on their list.

I'm proud to be Mongolian because we have lots of history, tradition, lots of freedom and beautiful country.
