Robert Downey Jr. is dividing the internet with this moment at the 2024 Oscars.

The Oppenheimer star won his first-ever Academy Award on March 10 for best performance by an actor in a supporting role.

But it's the way he accepted the award from last year's best supporting actor Ke Huy Quan that has some viewers not impressed.

In the video, Robert appeared to not make eye contact with Quan during their on stage encounter, quickly taking the award from the actor before shaking presenter Tim Robbin's hand.

And he got even more awkward when he didn't notice Quan trying to give him the winner's envelope.

Instead, he shared a fist bump with presenter Sam Rockwell before turning around to address the audience inside the Dolby Theater.

The video from the awards show caused some division on the internet.

One user wrote on X, "Robert Downey Jr. could have been a little more responsive to Ke Huy Quan when accepting his first Oscar."

And another wrote that it showed a real lack of class.

While one user said the whole thing was being blown way out of proportion, saying, "Getting on that stage knowing you have 45 seconds to talk has to be intense. There were four other guys on that stage and some were his close friends."

And although their interaction on stage was brief, the two were in great spirits backstage.

He was photographed shaking hands with Quan and even gave him a friendly hug.

E News has reached out to reps for Downey Jr. and Quan for comment but hasn't heard back.

A moment similar to this one happened last month during the 2024 Grammys when Taylor Swift won the Album of the Year award from music legend Celine Dion and forgot to acknowledge her on stage.

But the duo quickly put the rumors to rest as they posed for a picture backstage.
