  • Don't live next year by default. Take control.

  • Today at the 5 Minute Sales Training, five questions to help you plan out your ideal 2024.

  • Welcome back everyone to the 5 Minute Sales Training.

  • It's the last episode of 2023.

  • Finally.

  • We're going to be taking some time off to celebrate this holiday season, but we're looking forward to starting up again next year.

  • And start again, start again fresh.

  • Make sure you subscribe to this channel so that you'll be notified when we do return.

  • And speaking of the new year, today, we're looking at five questions that can help you plan out your entire 2024, and make it your best year ever.

  • Grab a pen. Write the questions down.

  • But more importantly, carve out some time to write down your responses.

  • Seriously, take some time on this. It's that important.

  • All right, let's dive right in with question number one.

  • What is your jam?

  • Now, look, your jam used to be your favorite song.

  • You know that song that comes on the radio when you're driving and you just can't help it?

  • You need to do a little drive dancing.

  • And that's my jam right there.

  • I love this song, man. - I love this song too.

  • But over time, that term came to mean anything that you enjoy.

  • Oh, man. Pickleball, that's my jam.

  • And you know what? I'm enjoying pickleball, too.

  • And if you have no idea what pickleball is, just ask one of your peers from Florida. They know.

  • But today your jam extends to that which you are passionate about.

  • In fact, when do you feel most successful?

  • It's when you find the convergence of three things: joy, aptitude and purpose.

  • You see, identifying your jam is really important because that's where you do your most significant work, personally or professionally.

  • Take some time to ask yourself, "What is my jam?"

  • Talk to people around you.

  • Where do you find the greatest convergence of joy, aptitude and purpose?

  • It's fun, I'm good at it, and it means something.

  • All right, question two: What is your theme?

  • The fact is that the process of theming is very effective in just about every endeavor.

  • So how about when it comes to planning your year?

  • Theming gives you focus and clarity.

  • Ultimately, the best themes are the ones that carry into clear and specific action.

  • You don't have to answer right now.

  • In fact, it might take a while to come up with it, but it's a worthwhile exercise.

  • In one sentence, maybe two at the most.

  • How would you describe your theme for 2024?

  • In other words, 2024, the year of what?

  • What does the year mean to you?

  • What the year mean to you?

  • This is our year.

  • Question three: What one objective would make the biggest difference in 2024?

  • Now, I'm not talking about some vague and random New Year's resolution.

  • "This year I'm going to be a better person."

  • I'm talking about doing something real, learning something new, picking up an entirely new skill or hobby, going on an exotic vacation,

  • serving somewhere, do something bold, do something that scares you a little bit, or maybe even a lot.

  • What is that key objective?

  • What is your objective?

  • My objective?

  • Question four: What does healthy mean to you?

  • Look, we are holistic creatures.

  • We live our best lives when we are healthy in all the different aspects of our life; physical health, emotional, relational, spiritual, financial.

  • In fact, when one of those things is out of whack, it affects all the others.

  • Get some rest.

  • If you haven't got your health, you haven't got anything.

  • I mean, I remember being deeply in debt and not knowing how is going to pay the rent.

  • And I remember how that affected me in all the other areas of my life; my health, my relationship with my wife, everything.

  • So when you think about a healthy 2024, I want you to encourage you to think holistically about your health.

  • It starts by asking yourself this question: What areas of my life might be dragging down the other areas?

  • I could suggest a theme for you for 2024: Get holistically healthy.

  • And question five: Where do you start?

  • Or put another way: Where do you grow from here? Where do you begin?

  • The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

  • And then another. And then another.

  • Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Darren Hardy's excellent book, The Compound Effect.

  • In that book, you'll find this excellent advice:

  • Do something. Every bit of change begins with action.

  • Do something. Now. Right now.

  • Like, why are you still watching this?

  • Oh, that's right. I haven't said the tagline yet.

  • Learn more to earn more.

  • Now go do something.
