Present continuous

I'm working at home now, so my daily routine has changed in the last few months.

The imperative

but I usually hit the snooze button a few times!

Right after I get up, I drink a big glass of water

I like to wash my face to help me wake up.

Then I put on some exercise clothes, because I like to do a home workout in my living room.

A bit of exercise in the morning always helps me to get motivated for the day.

After I finish, I go back to the bathroom to shave and shower.

Some days I have bacon and eggs, though I often have something lighter,

One thing is certain – I always have coffee!

I start work at 8:00, and I work from home at the moment,

so I spend many hours in front of the computer.

My colleagues and I work remotely from all over the world,

We also chat with our boss on our regular video call meetings.

They are all very reliable and easy-going, and we rarely have problems.

Sometimes I lose track of time, so I set an alarm

to make sure I take regular breaks throughout the day.

When my alarm goes off, I stand up, stretch,

and refill my water bottle or make a cup of tea.

I also make sure I take some time to have lunch,

as well as a snack in the afternoon when I get hungry.

When my workday is done, I prepare dinner in the kitchen.

I make enough food to have leftovers for the next day's lunch.

I like to prepare different dishes, so it usually takes me about an hour.

After dinner, I love going for a walk around my neighbourhood.

It's good to get some activity a few times  every day!

When I get home, I shower again and then relax on the sofa.

I like to enjoy my hobbies in the evenings,

so I might read a book, watch TV or even play some video games.

and I often write about my day in my journal before I turn out the light.

It never takes me very long to fall asleep.

On the weekends, I like to change my routine a little bit,

I often do chores around the house, like cleaning,

I often meet up with my friends on the weekend too.

We might hang out at someone's house or see a movie at the cinema,

When I do, I always order pizza and watch my favourite tv show for hours.

I know a lot of you are working from home now, just like me.
