  • Are you hungry?

  • I'm hungry.

  • Always hungry.

  • 10 foods are delicious, inspiring.

  • Wonderful.

  • And most importantly and must try if you're in Okinawa.

  • So all the food we eat today are located around the, which is the main street in Naha city where you'll come if you're a tourist because they've got lots of shops, food, entertainment clubs, night establishments, everything you want and maybe even more.

  • All right, let's go.

  • Okay so guys, we've come to eat our first food here in Okinawa which is, I can't wait to come to one of the famous stores here.

  • It smells and they actually make it using three ingredients flour, sugar and eggs to choose which one you want?

  • Brown sugar playing girl you want the famous here anymore anymore.

  • So basically um Sapa means sugar and and uh g means deep fried which is where the deep fried sugar.

  • Yeah, basically.

  • Oh my goodness.

  • There we go.

  • Yeah I'm going to ah it's life.

  • Oh my God this is great for anyone.

  • Caribbean background is like what is this?

  • This tastes like jamaican dumplings like it tastes just like jamaican.

  • Yeah, really good but they're like jamaican dump is a little bit more savory.

  • It's like a sweet version of a jamaican.

  • It's a kind of subtle sweetness.

  • It's not over And it's still a little warm.

  • These are really fresh.

  • This is really, really good.

  • I would get that again.

  • I think you definitely have to go to one of the local shops to try it.

  • Don't go to like one of those souvenir shops where they already box, get a fresh one.

  • So, we're gonna rate things as we go and I'm giving that a solid 10.

  • Are you surprised?

  • Solid 10?

  • I came in with low expectations because deep fried, but it was very like, like it was, yeah, and not too sugary donut.

  • 7.5.

  • Okay.

  • Like, I don't like sweet things.

  • I don't like deep fried things really.

  • And it was sweet and deep fried and it snapped at some 0.5.

  • Not bad.

  • All right.

  • Sarah has vanished on me, but in her absence, I have grabbed the pork time ago.

  • Spam on a giddy a staple.

  • Okinawa, let's give it a taste how it is taking us.

  • It's good because all the in the GDR made fresh the wait time at the store can be kind of long, but it's definitely worth it.

  • This is probably one of the best I've had.

  • I'm gonna give this.

  • It's 7.5 out of 10 on to the next location.

  • Let's see if you can find sarah.

  • So, we've come to Okinawa gift shop on Market Street and they have a bunch of different Okinawa style like foods and souvenirs to take home.

  • And so I'm gonna try this which is basically like c so the great thing about this shop is they have lots of samples.

  • So if you're not sure you like it.

  • Just try it.

  • Oh, so we have some sort of cut it.

  • So I'm gonna put that in.

  • Oh, that was a lot.

  • I'm gonna just, I think it is vinegar.

  • You can see these little fish bowl, fish bowl.

  • I don't know.

  • Let's go talking about.

  • It's fun.

  • It's kind of like you're popping, you know those things when you get mail and you pop it?

  • It's like putting that in your mouth and your bubble.

  • It's like delicious bubble wrap.

  • Fun for the whole family.

  • It's really light and yeah, I was kind of afraid of that because it's scary grapes from the sea, scary.

  • I wonder how deep they are.

  • How many meters down.

  • You have to go to find the secret 1,000,000 m with those kind of fish that have the lantern on them, Megalodon, octopus, sea grapes.

  • That's all that's down there out of 10.

  • Would you give this actually an eight?

  • Yeah.

  • Eight or nine?

  • I like this would be really good rice or something.

  • Yeah.

  • I also want like a thicker great like so that the juice just like burst grape grape.

  • So what's the next thing we're eating?

  • I don't know, weird tofu.

  • It seems like a man has never tried this before.

  • This so many times since we got it right.

  • It's like every place we go to Sarah's.

  • I'm going to get the weird jelly tofu thing.

  • It's got peanut sauce.

  • I do like peanut sauce.

  • It's so refreshing though.

  • It's perfect weather.

  • It's so jelly tuck it up.

  • That is so refreshing.

  • How why?

  • That really makes it.

  • It's so good.

  • That is very snappy.

  • Don't drink the sauce by itself.

  • nine.

  • Very good.

  • I'm ready to eat mine.

  • This one's super thick.

  • It's so good.

  • It's so thick.

  • I also give it a nine right next we're gonna have some unique, very unique Sarah is going to have the coyote wow, so full of goya energy.

  • I'm going to have the Chicago city so citrusy, essentially a fusion between the lion and the user.

  • It seems like it's very good.

  • I like them a lot.

  • I'm excited.

  • I love tea but I've never had Oh he pulled me a lot.

  • Hopefully this goes well.

  • It tastes like normal.

  • Like it tastes like are you actually a corn in disguise?

  • I don't know.

  • I'm disappointed in terms of I would love to be very, very light refreshing.

  • Taste better than better than better than either way.

  • Both teams.

  • You can't go wrong.

  • I like them.

  • I love, I love it's one of the benefits of living in japan.

  • It's british tea.

  • I like tea.

  • We like the british, we like our my break right now we're on which is where you can find basically all the things that we've introduced today.

  • Can you feel the vibes the Okinawan Vibes means International Street.

  • Can you feel the vibes International?

  • I think I can, although there's a lot of american influence so you can see like a lot of steak places, there's lots of little cafes and start fun little places and chill, get some lunch and things and also a lot of good souvenir shopping as well.

  • So you can get like food souvenirs.

  • We can also get like jewelry and cups and like the little knickknacks and stuff, the things you want from like say Okinawa on it.

  • So you're gonna find, we have come to blue steel in Okinawa is very famous for having various interesting flavors that you can't get parts of japan.

  • I got a blue wave more sort of balanced, less sweet type of ice cream.

  • I have lyme sure, but I think I needed something a bit refreshing, refreshing, definitely refreshing.

  • Blue wave is really good basically.

  • See blue steel everywhere around looking like they've got, we're gonna insert how many locations they have but we can't go anywhere without seeing it everywhere and I've had a lot so far.

  • Each one been very good.

  • Every single place you go to go to the beach, like an ice cream vendor and every time but we've also got one other flavors in school which is like the salty cookies which we're gonna introduce later.

  • This is one of their most popular.

  • I think it is the most popular at Lucille's?

  • So try this first Sir tacos tacos we are in to get some but not just any taco taco taco rice.

  • Tacos.

  • I love, I love this is my favorite thing to eat.

  • I got just straight taco rice.

  • I'm a purist.

  • I got the special plate which has taco rice.

  • It has a taco and then an onion rings potato chips that hits the spot.

  • That's as you say taco rice, I think I might be wrong but originated from the kind of american influence once again.

  • But they've made it very japanese because it's the lettuce and the tomato and the cheese and the meat as you can see sits on a bed of rice.

  • So it's very japanese in that sense.

  • Very japanese made.

  • The type of rice is very like mexican influenced japanese, taco meat, very good, very well seasoned but also you get a little salsa that comes with a dish isn't complete without salsa, a little bit different flavor profiles and the balance.

  • You get a little bit different.

  • Talk around it.

  • That extra texture that comes through it.

  • Really, really like it.

  • It's, it's really good.

  • It's got the spice you need.

  • This magnitude must say taco rice and I love him.

  • We are here at golden for some cash.

  • What snacks snacks like especially like sweet potato snacks.

  • Sweet potato is very famous and here we have a purple one and a yellow colored one and the difference is so on the left.

  • The purple one is a potato, purple sweet potato but the one on the yellow, the yellow one is from a village and so it's a little special.

  • But you see both varieties around the town.

  • I got a blank because I love mont blanc and it's filled with this crazy, spiraling sweet potato icing.

  • Very cool.

  • I just love mont blancs but I saw a massive tower of icing.

  • I was like, I have to get it.

  • This is, this is for me it's kind of like a boat.

  • Maybe it's because we're on an island and there's a lot of boats, boat of sweet potatoes.

  • There's different layers of texture in this like the outside layer has got like the kind of intense, you know, it shaped it.

  • But then the more you bite into it it's like the smoother texture.

  • And then you put the like pastry, oh you've got like a three layer going on your, the one the one piece of fruit we have here.

  • Dragon fruit.

  • Do I remember how dragon fruit, Dragon fruit, I feel like there's a stronger flavor for the purple one.

  • The orange one is a subtle, more subtle flavor.

  • It's very soft and these are fresh.

  • So basically if you come to the cafe upstairs on the second floor of this place, they'll give you like a fresh one.

  • But if you go to the shops you can kind of get like a preserved one but you can take home to your friends and family.

  • Oh and they let you choose your copier.

  • So we've got some traditional kind of play Okinawan design.

  • My personal favorite is the one kind of cool because it's got a cheese on it.

  • Guys, we're gonna wrap up here, eat all these cakes down all of this coffee, chill out for a little bit and then hit up and is a key to try some different Okinawan food.

  • Alright guys, we have come to our final spot which is called and this is a local Izakaya with lots of amazing Okinawa foods.

  • So what are you drinking tonight?

  • I've got an hour Murray with coffee and water.

  • It's quite strong.

  • So I've got one as well.

  • So mine is a special one because we've got craft gin, japanese gin and tonic water.

  • This is very like light tropical fruit.

  • Yeah, it's amazing.

  • Very refreshing.

  • I thought it'd be like more alcoholic.

  • Yeah, exactly.

  • All right, so the food is here.

  • We have many Okinawan soba.

  • I've been really keen to try this.

  • Really, haven't had it before.

  • You provide.

  • I love sober and japanese noodles.

  • So I'm going to dig right in.

  • I'm always curious about what kind of dash are they using.

  • This is very good.

  • It's so easy to eat.

  • The noodles are chewy, not too big thick, like a consistency.

  • Um, so this is actually just topped with some many sugar and some not so green onions.

  • It's a simple but lovely flavorful dish.

  • That is so good that I think we're going to order another one.

  • It's only 180.

  • M many too many.

  • I need party bolted this silver.

  • This is, this is this is this every day in Okinawa.

  • This is so good.

  • I do think that this is a really good food.

  • Hopefully if you guys do try it, come here.

  • Excellent.

  • Do you want to try the, do I like goya?

  • Listen, he's a bit biased.

  • I'm biased.

  • How is it?

  • It's very bitter.

  • If you're not a big fan of bitter things, I would avoid it, but it's fresh and healthy.

  • It's the kind of vibe I'm getting.

  • That's why they live so long in Okinawa, they're eating this, it's bitter right through to every, every ounce of this dish is like being washed with the taste of bitter melon.

  • So like it's better.

  • The bacon, the bacon and the pork is a little bit salty.

  • But what was your favorite fruit today?

  • What one thing would you eat again together again?

  • I'm gonna just say that Okinawa soba was amazing.

  • Is that your favorite too?

  • Yeah, I like the sober, sober is really good and I think no taco rice was wonderful.

  • Right?

  • The ranking is the taco rice number one store owner was great.

  • The store itself was amazing.

  • Fantastic.

  • But then to, I'm gonna say the vines are good.

  • The food is delicious.

  • The people are really friendly.

  • This is the place I want to go.

  • Yeah.

  • There's like a guy, a guy with an afro hairstyle works already.

  • That's like and there's a guy who pulled out and he's like, I just practice here.

  • I'm like good food, good vibes, good people down below.

  • What do you want to try it?

  • But until then we're gonna stay here.

  • Listen to drink some delicious Okinawan Until then see you in the next video.

  • Bye.

  • It's sunny and rainy so much and we have coffee because we are addicts.
