Increasingly, people worldwide are searching for advice on how to become a K-pop celebrity.
Companies in the Korean entertainment industry do an excellent job of searching worldwide for the next generation of superstars.
For K-pop entertainment businesses, it's wise to have at least one non-Korean member in the group, which will help them develop into that particular market.
Consequently, many auditions are open to all countries.
Many are aware of Blackpinks' enormous popularity, particularly Lisa, who has a devoted following in Thailand and throughout the rest of Southeast Asia.
Lisa is currently one of the most well-known artists in K-pop.
Most new K-pop groups feature at least one non-Korean singer or songwriter.
As the global market continues to embrace K-pop, this is a trend here to stay.
There will be no shortage of new talent in the Philippines, Indonesia, and India as K-pop entertainment organizations continue to search for fresh faces outside of South Korea.
There is a lengthy training period that might last up to five years before one can become a K-pop star.
It took 2AM's Jo Kwon eight years of training before his debut.
Become a K-pop idol; it's extremely difficult to demonstrate it.
However, it is feasible to join one of the many K-pop entertainment firms as a trainee with a lot of hard work and natural skills.
Having to live, practise, and perform with other trainees at such a young age is difficult.
This is the most comprehensive guide for people who want to break into the K-pop industry as the next big thing.
For a K-pop star, you must have two of the three factors.
Be a talented singer or rapper, a skilled dancer, and a visually appealing person.
At the very least, two of the three must be present.
Today's video will explore the five ways to become a K-pop Idol 2022, but subscribe to our channel and turn notifications on before getting started.
5.
Start voice and dance training at an early age.
Many K-pop auditions accept applicants as young as 12 years old.
As a result, it's advised that you acquire at least two years of dance and voice training under your belt before applying.
That means you should begin training at the age of 10 at the earliest.
Legal guardians must accompany minors to auditions if they are under the age of 14.
The average age of 18 among those who apply for the audition (ranges from 12 to 25 years old).
To be on the safe side, this means that you should begin training as soon as you turn 16.
If you're a man and can sing alto or even soprano, you'll have a leg up on the competition when auditioning for K-pop bands.
In general, the further you can shoot, the better.
As with any muscle, your voice needs exercise to grow stronger.
For example, BTS's Jin aspired to be an actor rather than a singer.
However, he put in a lot of effort to bring his voice to where it is now.
In other words, if you put in the effort, you CAN increase your singing ability.
As a result, if you are a smoker, you must stop immediately.
Smoking is terrible for your voice, and most trainees will be prohibited from doing so.
Most people interested in getting into K-pop can already sing or rap, so we suggest focusing on dancing instead.
Hip hop, modern, and urban dancing should be your primary focus.
Pre-recorded music is frequent for live performances, allowing the group to concentrate entirely on their choreography.
It's for this reason that dance is given so much importance.
As a result, even if you can't sing, you can still become a K-pop celebrity.
Many rappers, dancers, and visuals have found enormous success as K-pop stars despite not having a great voice.
SNSD's Yoona and Momoland's Nancy, for example, have mediocre singing vocals but serve as the group's public face because of their other abilities.
4.
It helps to know some level of Korean.
It is not necessary to be able to communicate in Korean.
Remember, Lisa from BlackPink was a trainee who couldn't speak Korean.
On the other hand, many K-pop entertainment companies allow auditions from people of all ethnicities and colours.
To broaden their appeal, they prefer to have someone from a different country represent them.
Many K-pop entertainment organizations are eager to expand into countries like Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and China.
There is also a big K-pop fan following in India, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
You should, however, have some knowledge of Korean.
Then again, you'll be living in Korea for the duration of your training, so it's a good idea to learn a few words of Korean.
In addition, Koreans appreciate it when outsiders attempt to learn the language of their homeland.
In the beginning, focus on learning the basics so that you may rapidly pick up the Korean language while training in Korea.
Many Korean trainees will be in the audience for your performances of Korean tunes.
As a result, it is highly recommended that you study Korean in advance.
The process of learning Korean can be made more accessible with a variety of educational applications.
Watch some of the top Korean dramas and some of the most popular Korean films.
You'll be able to speak and comprehend Korean at a basic level within a year of learning the language.
3.
Don't forget to work on your personality.
For K-pop entertainment businesses, the importance of a group's individuality cannot be overstated.
They will be required to appear on Korean variety shows, where they will be judged on their personalities.
You can improve your personality by watching K-pop idol interviews and preparing yourself for the most common topics.
It's also good to have a few crafted jokes or stories on hand.
By thinking of it in the context of a story, the more time spent telling it can help you better it.
A K-pop star's lifespan is quite limited, so you must have the versatility to pursue other careers, such as announcing or acting.
As noted in number 2, mastering the Korean language will increase your access to Korean television programmes.
Foreigners who speak broken Korean are considered cute by Koreans.
If you've got a good sense of humour, you'll be encouraged to offer K-pop items, which will help you get more visibility for your firm.
2.
Perform well-known Pop songs during your audition.
Take a well-known K-pop song and give it your unique spin.
Check out the video below from the Indiana University YouTube channel.
This artist has transformed one of the most popular K-pop songs into something special.
Most judges will skip over your performance if it is an original or obscure song.
Those who write songs will have many chances to show off their skills; however, it is best to avoid doing so during an audition.
As a trainee, you will be expected to compose and choreograph your music, so keep that in mind.
The majority of auditions need you to sing an English song and a Korean one.
It's usually a good idea to have a spare on hand if something goes wrong.
Try to pick a song that was popular at some point in the past for your audition Producers have recommended people who audition should take a fast-paced piece and slow it down.
You might also speed up a slow ballad.
This is an excellent opportunity to show off your vocal skills and originality.
Having three generations of popular music available is a beautiful idea.
One from the Nineties.
One from 2000-2010.
And one that spans the period from 2010 to the present.
Select the song you believe will have the most significant impact on the panel of judges based on their gender and age range.
For example, if they look like they are in their 40s, go with the 90s song.
1.
Prepare one personal dance choreography routine.
In most auditions, you'll be asked to choreograph a dance routine.
Again, choose a well-known song and create a dance routine to go with it.
Unlike a piece, this is where you can show off your talents.
Check out 1MILLION Dance Studio's incredible rendition of BTS's "Boy With Luv" choreography.
Many choreographed dance routines may be seen on this channel.
Your performance of an existing dance routine will be graded compared to the K-pop group that performed that practice if you want to do so.
As a result, it'll need to be perfect.
If you can complete the choreography flawlessly, then, by all means, use it, but be aware that judges will notice if you don't.
