We need butterflies to pollinate plants and flowers, so that new plants and flowers are able to grow as they are food for people as well as other insects and animals.

We need plants for more than just food though, they are a very important part of how the earth works and they help keep our air nice and clean.

Green plants use energy from sunlight to help them grow.

While they're using this energy, they make the fresh air that people and animals need to breathe.

Because of this, plants are very important to the environment, just as well butterflies enjoy hopping from flower to flower because they're doing a brilliant job at the same time.
