  • Hello.

  • This is Elliot from E.

  • T.

  • J.

  • English.

  • Today, I'm going to be talking to you about a technique which I use with all of my students.

  • After my Skype lessons, usually after our Skype lessons, I send a lesson.

  • Recap on in this lesson Recap.

  • I used this simple technique which just uses the words what, Why and how So I'm going to explain this technique in this video on it should help you learn English so much faster than you already do.

  • Ah, lot of people think it's OK to learn English just by reading things out of textbooks or just by just watching something, and they think they're going to remember it.

  • But the key to remembering things is not just what you learn, but it's how you learn it.

  • So when we're learning English, we need to think of what ways work for us on.

  • This little technique helps you remember what works for you and what doesn't work for you on.

  • Then you can use the things that work for you again In future practice, all you need to do is remember this technique and you'll be able to look back on everything on day.

  • Improve your English a lot faster or you need for this technique is just a pen and paper.

  • Or you can do it on your computer or anything.

  • Just something where you can save it.

  • Keep it with you and you can look back on it on what you need to do when you do.

  • This technique is you need to create three columns, three little sections boxes if you want.

  • You can design it however you want.

  • If you're more of a visual learner, you could make it look more interesting on when you do this.

  • What you need to do is create one section which says what?

  • Another section which says Why?

  • On another section which says how and then underneath that you just need a little bit of space.

  • So starting with what With what?

  • You just need to just write a few points in your section in your what section on.

  • You just need to explain what you learned today.

  • What did you learn in your learning session?

  • Whether it was a lesson with me, whether it was a lesson with a teacher in a school or whether you learn alone, you just need to write in this section what you learned, whether it was a new piece of grammar, maybe it was writing an essay.

  • It depends what you were learning.

  • But just write what you learned on it.

  • Be quite specific with it.

  • And then now we go into the why on in the why you explain why you learn this particular thing?

  • Let's say you learn a new grammar rule.

  • Did you learn a new grammar rule because you were struggling with it?

  • You found it hard.

  • Or were you learning it because you're trying to boost your vocabulary?

  • Or were you learning something because you wanted it to benefit you in the future?

  • Maybe you were learning something which will be good for business in the future.

  • Or maybe you're coming to an English speaking country on a holiday or to study soon on.

  • You want to be able to use this new skill in that specific point of your life, and now we go on to how so with how you just need to explain how you learnt it.

  • What learning techniques did you use to learn this specific topic?

  • Maybe you learned it through writing.

  • Maybe that's something that worked for you.

  • Maybe you learned it from watching a YouTube video.

  • Maybe you learned it in a lesson with me.

  • On whatever techniques your teacher tells you, you need to write down these techniques in the how section because the techniques are how you learnt the specific thing.

  • So if you learn speaking assed particular word that you were struggling with through repetition just saying it over and over again and breaking it up into different sections so you can then eventually say the whole word.

  • You just need to write that.

  • That's how you did it on.

  • Underneath the techniques of how you learned it, you need to explain whether it was useful, whether it worked.

  • Did this technique work for you, or did it not work for you?

  • If the answer is yes and it did work for you, then you'll be able to look back on this sheet of paper or document you've saved on your computer on.

  • You know that that works for you on.

  • Then you can tell your teacher, or you can tell yourself that this way works for me.

  • I'm going to keep learning using this technique toe, learn different things now you filled out your what?

  • Why and how at the bottom off the page, you just need to do a little summary, do a little recap and explain what you learnt.

  • How easy it waas.

  • Did you find it too easy?

  • Do you need more of a challenge next time, or was it too hard to do?

  • You need to make it a bit easier next time on.

  • Then when you feel all of this out, you can look back on it whenever you want.

  • You can relearn things that you learned.

  • You can look back on the ways you learnt it on.

  • You can remember all kinds of different things.

  • I find that writing things down always helps things come back to your memory.

  • So it's a really important thing you've got to do if you want to remember things that you learn in English.

  • So that is a technique which will help you learn English a lot faster, and you should definitely include it in your learning.

  • After every lesson.

  • Create these columns on, Write everything down as detailed as you can.

  • If you're just viewing this on YouTube and you're not on Facebook, then I'd like you to go over to my Facebook and all I want you to do is go onto my Facebook and you'll be able to find.

  • And it's some images which I've created on.

  • They're all related to this video there to help you with doing this technique, and it will just help you that little bit more.

  • So go over to my Facebook.

  • If you're not on it already on board, you can just get these free images, which will help you alongside this video.

  • So that's a very useful learning technique for you.

  • I hope you found it useful, and I hope you do put it into practice.

  • Please write in the comments below if you have any special ways of learning that help you on share with everyone else because I know everyone finds it useful when they tell each other how they learn different things.

  • So I'd like you to be commenting in the sections below off all of my videos because they will help you learn faster.
