  • these words are pronounce and pronunciation which means to make sounds

  • and words let's take a look at our words here our lesson today is going to be

  • more about word stress so both of these words start with pro and you can for

  • sure say Pro nouns and pro nun see a shun that is fine however when we are

  • stressing these words syllable two in pronounce is the stressed syllable so

  • that syllable is going to be louder longer and higher and pitch and then

  • conversely syllable 1 will be lower in pitch softer and shorter so that's why

  • I'm going to use that super short uh sound there pronounce pronounce

  • pronounce pronounce now for pronunciation what gets confusing is

  • this tion ending when we add it to a word it shifts the word stress in the

  • root word it is stress imposing so what that means is we are going to stress the

  • syllable right before this shun so we're not going to say pronunciation it

  • will be pronunciation so this is going to be the loudest the longest and the

  • highest and pitch meaning all of the others will get shorter softer and lower

  • in pitch so again we have Pra nun see a shun so we have pronounce

  • pronunciation pronounce pronounce pronounce pronunciation pronunciation
