  • And if this is something that you're interested in, working with me one on one, I can tell you more about that at the end of this video.

  • Contrary to what you might think, it has been known that the most productive and successful people out there aren't necessarily focused on doing mawr and more and more things.

  • In fact, they're focused on doing less their focus on simplicity.

  • They keep their work lives simple, and that's why they're able to be productive.

  • So here are four key ways on how to be more productive at work.

  • Productivity.

  • Tip number one.

  • Start the day focusing on yourself.

  • If you've developed the bad habit of waking up each morning and immediately grabbing your phone to check your email and messages, you've already automatically given your power away.

  • The reason for this is because you start your day by focusing on other people on what other people want from you, rather than focusing on what you want from yourself and how you want to approach your day.

  • Same thing If instead of grabbing your phone, your running straight to your laptop and your opening it up and starting to work and you haven't done any self care activities before, then you want to start to really implement this habit of focusing on yourself by starting to do self care activities.

  • So whether it's morning yoga, meditation, journaling, just simply breathing, you want to connect with yourself first.

  • Do not touch the phone.

  • Do not touch your laptop.

  • Focus on just yourself and get your self centered and connected before you go ahead and start your work day.

  • And the reason why I know this is because I used to be this way.

  • I used to be the person that got up and immediately checked my email check.

  • My messages looked at my calendar to see what I had to do for the day, and I always noticed that it created a sense of anxiety within me rather than a sense of peace and ease.

  • So I have already implemented this self care routine, and it has been working really well for me, where I completely ignore my phone, ignore my laptop, for sure, and instead I get in touch with myself.

  • I do my morning yoga, meditation, journaling, and from there I'm able to clear my mind, set the right intention for the day and then be able to start my work day onto productivity tip number to have 123 key goals per day.

  • That's it.

  • What I mean by this is you wanna have goals that are achievable and ensure that you're able to stay on track.

  • If you have a goal where all you're telling yourself is, get everything I need to get done.

  • Done, then that is a very unrealistic, vague and overwhelming goal.

  • Instead, you want to have clear, actionable goals that you can be happy about when you're able to complete them.

  • By the time your workday ends, for example, a key goal that you can have could sound like perform all assigned client follow up calls for today, and another key goal could be update forecast Spreadsheet for upcoming monthly meeting.

  • Having three of these types of key goals per day allows you to stay productive, motivated and not overwhelmed.

  • Productivity's E number three Minimize your to do list.

  • The key word here is to minimalize or another word that I like to use that simple and clear chop.

  • You want a chop your to do list to as small as you can make it.

  • Like I said before, it's not about doing more.

  • It's about doing less and focusing on the most urgent high priority items.

  • You want a tape or your to do list down to the things that are highly urgent, that have a strict deadline and that are extremely important.

  • Those are the things that you want to focus on first and accomplish them as soon as you can.

  • And finally, productivity tip number four know when to engage and when to take a break.

  • The power in being productive lies in knowing when to engage and when not to engage.

  • What I mean by this is we're not robots.

  • We can't operate 24 7 Even cars can't run day and night for years on end.

  • Eventually, they'll die out.

  • Research has proven the act of taking breaks actually allows us to be more productive overall.

  • And the reason for that is because it gives us the opportunity to refuel to clear our minds and allow our bodies to relax so that once we're ready to get back to working, we're going to be able to do so with more energy.

  • Productive people are productive because they understand themselves.

  • They know their habits, and they know what works best for them.

  • So the more that you can understand yourself, the better and more productive you're going to be and the more successful you'll be in your career Now, if you're someone who is struggling to land your dream job, you've been looking for the last little while, you haven't been doing well in interviews, and you realize that you need one on one professional help from me.
