  • Hey guys! Its Mikan and this is probably the plainest you have ever seen my hair.

  • I'm genuinely someone who loves to do things to their hair.

  • I dont really like to leave it plain.

  • Even if I had it like this, I would probably have like something in it to make it more interesting.

  • I've just always been that kind of person and I think it's because when I wasn't doing

  • my hair straightening I had really curly hair that was really hard to deal with

  • so I had to learn a lot of different ways to keep it kind of out of my face.

  • I do get bored very quickly of the same styles so I change it up quite a lot!

  • Recently in particular, I've been quite inspired by Kpop hairstyles.

  • I find that they're usually so playful and fun and it's a really nice way to keep your hair

  • out of your face during the summer because no one wants their sticky hair on the back of their neck.

  • It's very frustrating.

  • So today I decided to show you a few hairstyles that I like to do

  • and in particular, the ones I've been doing more recently.

  • I think that they're quite cutesy and summery and "Kpopey" ...

  • Not a word (lol)

  • So I really hope that you'll find this video helpful!

  • Especially if you're someone like me who loves to do different things to their hair!

  • But, before we get started, I would very much like to thank Amino for sponsoring this ...

  • I would very much like to thank Amino for sponsoring this video.

  • If you have not yet heard of Amino, it is basically this app that is designed

  • to help you find different communities!

  • What I mean by communities is, for example, if you're someone who's really into

  • Japanese fashion then you can find people who are really interested into Japanese Fashion and you guys

  • can post together and talk about the things you like together.

  • And then, for example, if you're someone who is really into Kpop, then you can really easily find

  • other communities of people who are also interested in Kpop!

  • You can post videos and blog posts and share your favorite things.

  • It's a really great place to meet new people and obsess over the things you like!

  • In fact, I actually have my own little Amino so if you're interested I'm gonna link it down below for you.

  • On my Amino I'm going to be posting a little hair tutorial on how to do my Sailor Moon inspired hairstyle

  • so if you wanna watch that, then I'm gonna link my Amino down below!

  • Just check it out on there and hopefully you'll be able to find some communities that you can get involved with!

  • All that aside, let's get on with the video!

  • Ok, first thing's first

  • the fringe

  • So I decided to leave this hair tutorial right before my haircut

  • while my fringe is quite long just because this is a Kpop inspired hair tutorial

  • and I find that doing Kpop inspired fringes and stuff is a lot more easy when your fringe is a bit longer

  • because usually I like to have it quite short and chopy.

  • I'm just gonna go ahead and tie the rest of my hair back so that it doesn't get in the way.

  • As you can see here, my fringe is quite long

  • and in my face

  • so what we need to do is

  • we need to grab our straighteners and all we need to do is

  • take our fringe into the straighteners

  • and

  • curl the straighteners in towards your face as we pull

  • and as you can see,

  • it kind of becomes rounder and fluffier.

  • It's a lot easier to work with like this because you can kind of do a lot of different things with it.

  • For example

  • If you just part it in the middle, and turn it towards itself

  • You've got the heart fringe!

  • Which I find is one of my favorite styles.

  • To keep it this way, I suggest using a lot of hairspray and, in particular,

  • putting the hairspray in between your fingertips and pinching the middle of the heart

  • but yeah. A lot of people often ask me how to do this fringe and as you can see, its super easy!

  • Literally all I did was; I curled my fringe

  • and then

  • turned it

  • in like this.

  • but yeah. there'a a lot of different ways that we can play with it when

  • its like this.

  • The way I usually have it is, I usually part it down the middle like this.

  • And then

  • I can kind of play around with it like this.

  • This is probably how I would have it on like, a day-to-day basis.

  • But it's really easy to play around with so I will be showing you some different ways to do it

  • as we do the different hairstyles.

  • If that makes sense

  • Lets get on with our first hairstyle!

  • Ok so the first hairstyle we're going to do is this kind of

  • I actually don't even know what I'm supposed to call this hairstyle like ...

  • uh .. balls ?

  • uh .. mm.. I should probably not call it that.

  • Does that hairstyle have like, a name or something ?

  • I find this hairstyle really fun because you can kind of play around with the hair bands to give

  • it a different kind of look.

  • So today, because we're doing a colorful, summery look

  • we're going to choose colorful, summery hair bands!

  • So you will need little colorful hairbands like these.

  • What I like to do is I like to match the colors on one side with the other.

  • So for example, if we start with

  • blue hair bands then we do blue hair bands on both sides!

  • So lets start with that!

  • I'm going to split my hair in the middle like this.

  • And then, right at the front I'm going to leave a few strands

  • like that

  • and then tie

  • half of it up.

  • You can use a hairbrush if you want to.

  • I like to tie it quite high up on my head

  • and then grab the blue hairband

  • and just tie it like this!

  • Like so!

  • And lets do the same on the other side.

  • Like so!

  • Then we're going to grab another color.

  • This time we're going to do

  • let's do

  • yellow!

  • And just kind of pull it

  • Maybe around here.

  • Just tie it

  • around here and then just pull it

  • out

  • like this.

  • So it becomes nice and rounded. Do you see that?

  • I feel like this could be a look.

  • Next, we'll do pink!

  • Again, same thing.

  • Tie it a little bit lower.

  • Pull it out.

  • And then, the last one. Which color should we do?

  • Let's go back to blue!

  • Great! As you can see it's quite a playful look!

  • Now, at the front, we've got these parts

  • All we're gonna do is, we're gonna take these parts

  • and curl them

  • a bit.

  • Like this.

  • You can do another layer beneath.

  • All you need to do is

  • spin it around like this.

  • Do you see ?

  • And it makes a little curl!

  • And here we have it!

  • Our first hairstyle!

  • I feel like this hairstyle, since the hairband themselves are kind of like decorations

  • you dont really need to add more to it but

  • if you want to, you're more than welcome to!

  • Maybe add a hairband or something like that.

  • I would personally just leave it like this.

  • Ok!

  • Next we're going to do, what I like to call a Kpop classic!

  • And that is these loose, low braids.

  • I've seen them for years and years in Kpop.

  • I think they're such a classic!

  • This one's a really easy one.

  • We just need to split our hair in the middle like this.

  • I like to tie this end that I'm not using at the time

  • just because I find it a lot easier.

  • Then we're going to

  • separate again a little bit at the front.

  • And then spit it into three.

  • Now I find it really important with this hairstyle

  • that you dont split it into three from the side

  • like this.

  • But that you do it from

  • the back like this.

  • Also I find it to be most important that

  • every section that you get is the same length.

  • So one of them might be a little bit bigger than the others.

  • But its ok as long as they're the same length.

  • And then from that point on it's just a simple braid!

  • Take the furthest one out and put it in the middle (x2)

  • Middle

  • Middle

  • Middle

  • until you reach the end.

  • I personally like to do this hairstyle with a

  • little, very thin, barely noticeable, kind of hair band.

  • And then we've got our first little braid!

  • And not let's

  • take this out

  • and do the same on the other side.

  • Ok! Now that you've got two simple braids like these

  • you need to start loosening them out.

  • So what I mean by that is pulling
