  • Hi.

  • Welcome to show me the curry dot com.

  • I'm Hittle coming to you from the YouTube space in Los Angeles.

  • As all of you know, a new jet is in India.

  • At least you should know if you've been keeping up with us.

  • But one of the best things about her going to India is that she gets to go and travel around to all the neighboring countries and taste the local cuisine.

  • And I'm so jealous of her right now.

  • But not too long ago, she visited Thailand and she sent me the short video clip of a raw mango salad.

  • So let's take a look.

  • But, Fisher, what is that?

  • What do you call it in time?

  • What is your name?

  • Name?

  • Name?

  • Thanks so much for that energy.

  • A.

  • And you didn't think that we would not make this right?

  • So I'm gonna show all of our viewers this yummy raw mango salad and it's called yum Moon.

  • And as you know, raw mangoes are fairly easy to find.

  • If you have an Asian store near you or if you have an Indian store near you, they're almost always there.

  • And they're they're like, all year around.

  • So pretty easy to find.

  • You want to make sure that you find a mango that is very, very raw.

  • And, uh, the way you tell is, um don't tell the shopkeeper, but all you do is you just kind of like poke your nail into a little bit like this.

  • And if you see it that it's nice and bright green, then you have yourself a raw mango and what we're gonna do is we're gonna peel the peel right off of it with a peeler just like this.

  • See how beautiful and green and fresh thatis So now, as we saw in the video, the street vendors are just amazing when it comes to shredding this mango.

  • But a lot of times, you know we're not as efficient as they are.

  • So we're gonna use a shredder like this, and we're going to shred this mango into the largest great that's possible.

  • And there we go.

  • We have a nice, fine shred, and now we're gonna do is we have a red onion here, and if you have shallots, they work really good too.

  • But if you don't read, onion is your next best substitute as thin as possible, and we're gonna add that into our salad.

  • Our next ingredient are shredded carrots, all right.

  • And now we have a green chile.

  • So again, chop it up very finally, or skip it altogether if you like.

  • Now, as we saw in the video, the lady on the street actually used a sweet and sour sauce.

  • And if you can get your hands on the sweet and sour sauce, you know, feel free to add it.

  • What I'm gonna do instead of using a sweet and sour sauce, is I'm gonna use a fresh lime.

  • Yeah, well, just squeeze that in.

  • The beauty of the salad is that all the ingredients are to taste.

  • So if you like something a little more tart, if you like it more spicy or more salty, you can just adjust all the ingredients to your taste.

  • And next we have some palm sugar.

  • Now, you couldn't get away with using regular sugar, but a lot of the Thai dishes they use palm sugar.

  • And if you go to an Asian Stores high store, this is what it looks like.

  • It kind of comes in these little round, um, little clam looking things actually, but all I did was I just powdered this down and then got it into just a powder form so that I can use it easily and again.

  • We're gonna just a little bit in there to taste.

  • And it's going to give a nice, sweet and sour effect that your sweetens our sauce widow.

  • And now we have some dried red chili flakes again optional.

  • But they're very good.

  • And of course, we have some salt.

  • Now, a lot of Thai dishes use fish sauce, and I know any type person who's gonna watch this video is gonna probably yell and scream at me because I'm not using fish sauce.

  • But I am a vegetarian, and I know a lot of our viewers are also a vegetarian, So I'm just gonna offer this recipe, which doesn't have any fish sauce.

  • It also doesn't have dried shrimp, which is also another key ingredient to the salad.

  • Ah, you take dry tramp, you powder it up and you added in, just like we did all the other ingredients, and that's your authentic Thai salad.

  • Another key ingredient is peanuts, and these peanuts have been roasted.

  • I just roasted them in the microwave for about a minute or two until the appeal just kind of fell off of it.

  • And I roughly crushed him.

  • You know, we're gonna take this thing and just kind of Mexico.

  • Now you can taste as you go.

  • And definitely, if you need more salt, more sugar, lime juice.

  • Just add it, taste it at it and keep on going until you come to the perfect balance of all your flavors.

  • It's got this perfect balance of sweet and sour, so yummy.

  • The raw mangoes just kind of hit you.

  • Hey, little taste buds to the side.

  • But it is so delicious.

  • So there we have it.

  • Our young morning, I hope I'm saying that correctly, but it's a tie raw mango salad.

  • And thank you so much energy for sharing that clip with us because it allowed us to make this at home, and it really is a delicious salad, so I hope everybody gets a chance to try it out.

  • Now, if you like this video and you want to see more from us, be sure you hit the subscribe button because every time you do, you will be the 1st 1 to know when we post a new video and it's absolutely free.
