  • This is the lock picking lawyer, and what I have for you today is a somewhat odd product.

  • It's a sh Lake bicycle you lock that appears to be a re branded version of the old Kryptonite keeper.

  • But what's particularly odd is the packaging, which avoid suggesting in any way that this is to be used for bicycles.

  • It's simply called a steel padlock, and the illustration show it locking a gate, a propane tank, a ladder, no indication that it should be used on a bicycle.

  • Even stranger is that this is currently sold on Home Depot's website.

  • Despite it being a very old lock, we can see the in gristle Rand brand, which puts it pre 2013.

  • But if we look even closer, we can see a 2006 copyright.

  • My best guess is someone found some really old stock and decided to unload it on the Home Depot website.

  • But let's put that aside for now, because today we're going to see what it takes to pick open the disc detainer core as usual.

  • Our first step is to rotate all of those disks as far clockwise as they will go, and I'm going to get the pick that Bosnian Bill and I made.

  • Try to pick up disc number one.

  • Okay, I've got that.

  • Now it's fine.

  • Number two and get to picking.

  • Okay.

  • Nice click out of two.

  • I think that set.

  • Click out of three feel set.

  • Same 14 quick out of five.

  • Fair bit of movement on the core.

  • Six is set.

  • Probably a zero cut.

  • And that is the last disk.

  • Let's make sure everything is set to three for five.

  • Okay, lets try tensioning off of number six.

  • It's probably number one holding us up right now.

  • And that's exactly what it waas okay.

  • Not too hard to pick.

  • Just six discs, No false gates and rear tension.

  • Pretty basic for a disc detainer lock and not something that's going to slow down and experienced picker for very long.

  • In any case, that's all I have for you today.

  • If you do have any questions or comments about this, please put them below.
