  • Hey, kids, today we are going to re finish these frames that I found at the thrift store.

  • I will show you the before.

  • This is the after by Plaid Online's folk art chalk paint.

  • It's U two's best for creative things.

  • It's cooking and crafting.

  • Hey, kids.

  • I wanted to re finish some frames that I got at the thrift store.

  • They aren't exactly the colors, but it's exactly the type of frame that I want.

  • It s oh, I got that one.

  • And I got this one.

  • This one's a little bit more complicated.

  • And then what you basically want to do with these these air something really new to me, at least on Dhe.

  • I wanted to try it because I heard that they were very forgiving, you know, and easy to use.

  • You don't have to do any prep on these except to make sure that your surface is clean of dust and dirt.

  • So without really even prepping this one, you know feels fine to me.

  • I'm just gonna go ahead and we're gonna start with this.

  • I am going to grab my convey by the set together, the paint and the wax rush set So this is the paint set or the paint brush here.

  • All you have to do is just go on here and around this.

  • It's so easy, I can't even stand it.

  • But after this is all on and you know you can also, I went online.

  • They have a wonderful website that gives you all kinds of ideas.

  • Plaid online dot com where you can just, um very the way you you paint this.

  • So, like, I'm just painting it straight on.

  • But, you know, you can paint it on, you know, swirly wise, or they even have these sponges that I've got.

  • But you can use all different types of textural type of getting it on to be surfaced that you're painting, and you don't have to worry.

  • Um, but can you see how fast this is that we've gone through this already?

  • I mean, it hasn't taken anytime whatsoever.

  • I think the longest time that this is going to take is the drive time.

  • And, um, according to the instructions on their website, should let two hours go between each, um, layer of paint.

  • So I'm gonna let this dry and see if it needs another layer of paint here.

  • Anyway, these colors apparently come in 42 different colors.

  • And it was hard for me to choose which ones I really wanted, because I kind of wanted them all.

  • And there are three different wax, um, waxes there's, like a crackle and, um, clear wax.

  • In the meantime, I did two coats or another coat on this one.

  • So we have two coats on here on Dhe.

  • I left this one here as just one coat, because I don't think it is going to need any more than that.

  • So I am going to get out being home to core wax and per the instructions I can put this on, and an hour later, it should be dry.

  • And then you can a buff it to, um whatever sheen it is that you know that you want on here, so I'm guessing that, you know, you can get it pretty nice and, uh, shiny.

  • So this is very interesting.

  • You can also use this like I'm just playing regular raw wood.

  • You know, um, without any of the, um, paint on here, I find this all very fun and interesting, and I just went over.

  • Well, during the break here to plan online to try and, you know, look for more ideas.

  • And there is just a bonanza.

  • There's all kinds of things that you can do.

  • So I'm getting more and more excited on.

  • You know what?

  • I can do more with this paint and and wax so head on over there.

  • If you want to find out some more about this product and this stuff as soon as you're done, put it in some, you know, in some water.

  • Just, um, really quickly and everything just wipes right off.

  • So this is the sending block.

  • It has some, you know, sending on all four sides here.

  • The top is just like foam under there.

  • Um, you can use just a light pressure if you just want to do a little bit of, you know, distressing.

  • Or you can go a little bit more heavy handed.

  • And, um, just press as hard as you want again with this.

  • All you have to do is just rinse with water and reuse multiple times.

  • All right.

  • It has been a little bit more than it.

  • No, I started wiping.

  • As you can see.

  • Make sure you don't use one of your best, um, towels ever.

  • But you do want to make sure that it's clean.

  • I'm just free and just go ahead and wipe that wax off.

  • So there you go.

  • I just need to do a tiny little touch up by getting just the tiniest little bit off of there, and it'll be perfect.

  • Get my mat in there and there's the photo I'm going to find Put up in there.

  • I hope you enjoy this home decor by folk art.

  • The chalk paint.

  • It's awesome.

  • Go check it out.
