I have never made marshmallows from scratch. (Taylor: Me either) I don't even know how they do it. But in the fancy French restaurants, they always serve you those Fresh marshmallows? Oooh! Yeah, with many flavors so I'm excited to try. (Sharla: Are they good?) Yeah! Hopefully this time we will be able to get this right because I really wanna eat these, they do look yummy. And they don't take any baking so I feel like we can't go too wrong? Yeah! We just like microwave them a little bit and then put them in the fridge, so ... How can you screw that up? Okay so, the ingredients we're using are some regular white sugar some kanten powder It's made from seaweed and it's a replacement for gelatin if you want like a vegetarian replacement. And then we got some flavors to put in our marshmallows peppermint and vanilla and then tons of like sprinkles and cute things to put on top of them and some cocoa powder And some potato chips because I was looking through the package today and it had a list of like weird marshmallow flavors that you could try and one of them was potato chip so I feel like we should do one, like invent something. (Sharla: Definitely.) Yeah let's make like a weird one, for sure. I wanna do some like experiments. Okay! Let's get started! I feel like making marshmallows is actually an art. Like, it's not, I think it's not as easy as ... I don't know. (Sharla: Uh-oh.) I don't like the sounds of that. Like because they're so fancy. So it comes with this really cute mixing bowl that it looks like we have to put together. And then it comes with these cute little maracas You fill them with like the topping and put the marshmallow in and then like, shake it. Oh that's cute. This marshmallow maker's based on like an anime. He's holding little maracas. So, step number 1! In the same bowl put in your gelatin powder. So our kanten powder. 5 grams of this. So one of these tubes is 4 so I guess that's good enough. Looks the same Now we add the 3 tablespoons of sugar. We're gonna start with the vanilla one. So once everything is nice and mixed and dissolved and you don't see the sugar granules anymore then it's ready to go in the machine thingy! 2 spins per second. (Sharla: yeah.) You go like this I guess? Can you time me? You have to time, one minute? Five. Five minutes of that?! This is a workout! Burn off those calories we're gonna eat later. Do you want me to take turns? Yeah, I'm already tired! It's so awkward to hold! Oh I think I went too fast One, two, one, two, one, two. But then it wouldn't be like the anime! Oh yeah. You like that stuff. Yeah! 2 minutes left! Does it look bubbly yet? Oh, yeah, it's getting bubbly. I see it's thickening. Ok, that's good. OMG! Do you want me to go? Go! I feel like we started, I didn't start the timing right away too though. I don't know but it says that it gets really thick so that it like stays on the outside of the bowl, and it doesn't look like it is at all! (Taylor: Oh no!!) Maybe we should microwave it more and stir it again? It looks the same. We just did all that for nothing! It smells good Oh it's steamy and it's thick. Eww it smells like shit! It's definitely thicker. But why is it clear? I don't know. Oh my god! In the thing it says if it starts making a noise then it's probably done. Like if it starts squeaking and it's hard to turn so, would that be now? Yeah, it looks fluffy. And pour it into tray! Why is it like so little? Do we need a smaller tray? Yeah, cuz it's only a tiny bit! What is this, marshmallows for ants? I don't get it though! Cuz like in the picture look we're using a tray that's like as big as the thing. And then it's like filling it up. What the heck?! Well at least it's thick, we did something right! Yeah. Well we're gonna put our marshmallow ... puddle ... into the fridge for half an hour and we'll be back! It's time to take our marshmallow out. Ta-da! Ew! It looks, it's rock hard!! It's hard? Yeah! OMG! Its like hard jello. Its like rubber!! Eww... Maybe it tastes good, let's give it a chance. Ok, let's decorate it. It smells good... It's like vanilla flavored rubber! Wanna try some? Ok, what do you think we should decorate it with? Everything! Ok, let's start with chocolate powder. Oh, we gotta use the maracas what are we doing?! How are we gonna put this in the maracas?!?!?! Like it's not gonna stick. Just push it? It's seriously rubber. I thinks it's ok. (Sharla: It's so rubber.) Oh my god, no, no, it's, it's too rubber. Ah, it went inside! Yeah, perfect. My man. My man! Ok, what's next? Beautiful! Why a chip? Why?! We wanted to make a chip flavor!! I feel like that's gonna be the best part. Yeah, some sparkles, sparkles make everything better. TA-DAAA!!! Maybe if I eat it with the 'my man'. Ok, I'll try eating it with the chip. The texture's disgusting Yeah the texture is so gross! It's like reaaallly hard jello. It's like chalky at the same time or something, I don't know, something, I guess it's the heart. Ew! I'm gonna try it with the chip. It was good for a second cuz it tasted like chip. EWWW! Why?!
