This'll also kind of brings us into another debate that happens a lot and whether or not you need super high end graphics cards for 10 80 p panels.

And my answer has always been If you're gonna be running a high refresh rate panel like the ex G here, then you definitely want more graphics card because of the high frame rates.

Now this is a 144 hurts one millisecond panels.

What that means is it can refresh itself 144 times per second.

It is a free sink panel, so of course it is going to give you ultra smooth frame rates at if you're running an Andy Graphics card and the one millisecond response time is the amount of time it takes for the light to actually go greater, greater light up and turn off again.

So that means very fast non ghosting, which is great for gaming now because it's a 10 80 p panel, it makes it more affordable for people to be able to check out and get involved in high refresh rate gaming.

Back in the day, high refresh rate panels were extremely expensive.

They were a commodity and as things have kind of moved forward with high pixel density or four K 14 40 ultra wide, kind of anything lately 10 80 p high refresh rate gaming panels to become more affordable than ever.

So that makes this more relevant.

Two people who may not even have a name D graphics card to take advantage of free sink.

Now this is a 1920 by 10 80.

Obviously, for the tentative Peace or full HD, it's a 24 inch diagonal viewable, which is kind of like the sweet spot most people enjoy a 24 inch panel, and that one millisecond response time in the 144 Hertz is just kind of like that's That's the meat and potatoes it's It's this.

It's the go to specs for EA Sports and stuff like that.

So that's why when you see e sports or C s go, which is the game I'm gonna be testing, by the way, for this, I not really done much with CS go in a while.

So the way I'm gonna kind of do this test here today is I am going to go into a custom CS go match with bots on expert.

Actually, not hard, but expert and I am going to lock the frame rate at 60 f p s and I'm gonna play around are a few rounds, and we're going to kind of just sort of unscientifically, see whether or not you know what my baseline is.

Then we're going to engage the 144 Hertz free sink option where you're going to smooth out that frame rate and get higher refresh rate and see if Mike gaming experience improves not one of those people who finds myself fairly sensitive to high refresh rate.

I don't personally like 60 f PS panels.

As soon as I experienced high refresh rate for the first time, I was hooked, and it was something that I just I couldn't go back.

60 Hertz panels was not an option for him.

Now it's gonna take a look at the build quality here you can see on the back.

I mean, the color faces away from you, so it's not gonna be in your face, but still, it's got that.

We'll call it the gamer racing stripe when you see colors like that, the basis plastic but it's got a nice faux brushed finish.

This is gonna look good on your desk.

It has a swivel base.

It does have a vertical height adjustment as well as a tilt.

It has us be 3.0, passed through HD, my 1.4 display port.

It even has speakers built in.

So this is also a great panel for things like land parties.

It is lightweight.

I mean, you can see here I can carry this around with one hand, no problem.

Lightweight, and it has other functions in there, like blue light filter.

It's also got anti flicker, and it's got 22 levels of black light stabilization, which will actually lift the dark scenes in games to make you more competitive.

So you know, enemies can't hide in the dark and then pop out and kill you which would even happen happen to me if I had a floodlight on them because I'm so bad at games like C s go.

But it's got a lot of features in there that you can adjust to make your gaming experiencing a lot better for you and give you an edge over the competition.

We're going to see whether or not it could give me an edge because trust me when I say I suck.

All right, So is 170 degree horizontal viewing angle and 160 degree on the till Now, the menus air controlled by these buttons underneath the edge right here you've got a bunch of different options.

You have this, we can control the blue light filter.

You can also adjust the audio.

In fact, I'm gonna turn the audio all the way up to see in viewing mode.

You've got your standard movie Web text, Mac and mono.

That's interesting inputs.

Let's play with the color temperature a little bit here, that's it to native um, you going to do full color control if you wanted their bluish cool s rgb a lot of different functions in here So it's go to the gaming settings because that's obviously what we care about game settings.

So in the game or settings you've got rampage response.

Outset to 1 44 We're gonna actually control the refresh rate in windows and a resolution.

Black stabilization.

Now, this is where you can go in there and adjust the black levels to bring up the dark scenes.

I'm gonna put it.

I will leave it a 10.

Advanced DCR brightness color.

Adjust blue light filter, view scale so you can actually change the aspect ratio.

That's kind of crazy right there.

Rename.

You could rename that setting and then reset.

So if we go back over here, we're gonna go to Andy Free Sink, and we're gonna go and turn that on.

Boom!

Rebooting itself.

Free sink is gonna be on.

So, first impressions, the sound is actually not terrible for two.

Okay, so we've got double buffered VC going right now.

And now the reason why we're doing bots on this is because I wanted more controlled experience.

We've got free sink enabled in the radio on software.

And we have, of course, got VC disabled in the game.

But the smoothness right now and that's so much smoother, or I feel so much more comfortable now.

And now, to be fair, you can't call this a warm up either.

Like I was warming up.

I played before we started the video so I could be warm already.

Think we're gonna try 11 and five and adjusted first place?

Baby, we got two more rounds the bots are suddenly doing good.

So some might say, like, Wait a minute, you didn't use you up in the first round.

But I didn't feel comfortable using the up in the first round because I was having some serious aiming issues.

We just ended around number 10 13 kills to assist six.

Death, 30 score.

Now I I know that this doesn't necessarily prove anything, but what happened here was the high refresh rate panel made me way more comfortable and way more confident in my ability.

And that's something I've always tried to explain to people on what high refresh rate panels really do.

Even though you may not be able to look at the screen and count the F PS and be able to say, Oh yeah, that's ah 100 F.

P s or that six year That's 100 and 50 year, 275 in this case, what it does is allows you to perceive an extremely smooth gaming experience, and that's why I will always praise high refresh rate panels.

Now the Viewsonic ex G 2402 comes in under $300.

In fact, I think I saw it advertised around the $270 price point on their website.
