- If you're stuck in the middle cramped airplane seats you are going to need these non travel outfit ideas. Your job as a passenger will be to choose the colors that you like and pants that fit your midlife style and body type. As a pilot's wife I have flown standby even on the back row of the airplane and I have learned what not to wear and what to wear when you are squeezed like a mammogram between two other passengers in a really small airplane seat. The number one outfit idea is strategic for travel. Cardigans worn over a neutral colored shirt will help protect the shirt that you're wearing and a cardigan is easy to take off in a really tight airplane seat. A cardigan can be worn in the airplane or over another outfit during your vacation. My travel tip is to wear your bulkiest shoes inside the airplane. Travel outfit number two is comfortable for your flight and it has water repellent features especially if you need it for a Christmas market trip you're going to or for a river cruise trip you want to pack for but you can wear them comfortably because of these features. Number one the waistband is elastic it has stretch to it the leg parts are super thin so it's not going to cut off your blood flow. I wear a large in these as well as my hiking pants that I usually show on here as well. One travel tip for that airplane outfit of joggers or hiking slicky type pants is choose that color strategically so that you can wear it with your airplane outfit but also with vacation outfits so you're not packing more pants because you've been strategic inside that cramped airplane seat. Wear a non-spongy super cheap fleece as a top layer inside a cold airplane seat. This aqua colored fleece is incredibly high quality fleece but it's also on Amazon.
