    • Edith Fitzgerald Fitzgerald key anyways so there was that phase and then um somewhere in there maybe like concurrent with all that there was like an exploration phase where she was sort of babbling a lot she would just be like pressing buttons and like hearing the sound and then pressing a different button and then pressing them in different combinations and looking at me and sort of watching to see what I would do like what does this combination make the monkey do what does this combination make mom do and that was a really really fun process to watch because I was sort of constantly confused because nothing she was saying was making sense but it was very very uh communicatively intentional right she would like go to the board she would look at me wait for eye contact and then she would like press a combination of buttons and sort of look up and smile and be like oh now what now what happens um so that was really cool and then we sort of plateaued for a while again I think that was uh in part due to me because I got really really busy with other stuff so I wasn't able to spend as much time modeling um okay we good are we good little buddy don't eat the questions don't eat the questions oh and another times you know maybe she's having a really bad stomach ache for a week because we know that she's got um you know gastrointestinal challenges so yeah when she's not feeling well she tends to use them less or when she is getting a ton of other enrichment and um exercise and or you know play or when we're just doing other things uh she sleeps a lot more and as she's aged she's becoming much much lazier girl basically all she wants to do is snooze and she's like one of those people that doesn't want to go to the gym but then goes to the gym and is like really thankful afterwards like I'll say hey you want to go for a walk and um she'll be like no not really and then she'll come for a walk sort of regrettably but then afterwards she's so happy and she's like so relaxed so anyways those are the button phases that she's gone through and right now we're in a phase where I kind of want to reorganize her board a little bit again and make it make more sense for her and for me and maybe add some new relevant words now that we're uh at the cabin a lot like I recently added fire and wind because it gets real windy here and I'm excited to add a snow button because we're gonna get a ton of snow in the winter which is gonna be so fun.
