Y’know, after watching today’s video, I’m reminded of times when I’ve tried to comfort or soothe someone who seemed to be suffering. I naively thought that they would welcome my attempts to soothe them, but that hasn’t always been the case. A wounded animal lashes out to protect itself. The same may be true of humans who are in pain. It may not be the reaction I’d expect or prefer, but I can soothe myself at the moment by remembering that I’m doing my best to spread kindness and that’s enough.
