  • Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Scarlet.

  • She was a very selfish little girl and didn’t get along with anyone

  • (screams)

  • Dad, dad, I want to go, those dumb kids are being mean to me

  • Have you tried being nice?

  • Why should I be nice to them?

  • She became very lonely.

  • Where are you going?

  • I’m going to get the ball.

  • It's scary in there.

  • So?

  • Scarlet wanted a friend more than anything in the world.

  • But a friend is hard to find for the selfish little girl.

  • Creepy.

  • Creepier.

  • Then someone appeared and everything changed.

  • You got it. Thanks.

  • Yeah.

  • I'm Megan.

  • I'm Scarlet.

  • That's a pretty name.

  • Thank you.

  • Did you just come out of those woods?

  • Yes.

  • Scarlet listen to me, don’t ever go back to those woods. Ever.

  • Okay.

  • It isn't safe.

  • Scarlet’s father knew what was in the woods.

  • But Scarlet went anyway.

  • Scarlet, this is stupid

  • It's going to be okay.

  • (Unintelligible voices)

  • Did you hear that?

  • I know, isn’t it cool?

  • (unintelligible voices) (screams)

  • Anyone here? Anyone here?

  • Hello Scarlet. I like you Scarlet. Youre a very brave young lady.

  • How do you know my name?

  • If you ever need a favor, you're more than welcome to come back here. To me.

  • Why?

  • I don’t have many friends

  • Yeah, me neither

  • We could be friends.

  • I...I gotta go.

  • One day on her way home from school. Scarlet remembered the witch’s offer to be her friend.

  • A few visits became many.

  • Everybody wants something, but Scarlet only wanted a friend.

  • The witch offered the use of her wand for anything Scarlet desired, but she said no.

  • The days became years.

  • And the visits became fewer and far between and longer than she had ever seen.

  • The witch’s hope for Scarlet to use her wand faded.

  • Scarlet found love elsewhere.

  • And the witch became jealous.

  • (creaking door opening)

  • She had to do something. So she did.

  • Broken hearted, Scarlet flew back to the witch.

  • Welcome back scarlet.

  • I need that favor you promised me.

  • Return to the woods before the hour is over or face a horrible ending.

  • Go.

  • Scarlet had finally used her favor, but time had run out.

  • I’m sorry. I'm so sorry.

  • Oh my dear I'm the one who’s sorry.

  • What?

  • You have given me your youth and freedom.

  • What's going on?

  • Thank you.

  • What did you do to me?

  • Don't be afraid Scarlet, you can pass the curse on to someone else.

  • That's what I did.

  • You can exit the woods, but only for an hour a day.

  • And don't break this hourglass, or we all die.

  • Where are you going?

  • I'm free Scarlet.

  • Why did you do this to me?

  • I asked the same thing to the witch before me.

  • I am not a witch.

  • (crying)

  • Scarlet wanted revenge, but her guilt prevented it, and she resented it.

  • Hello Laurie.

  • I need your help.

  • What's wrong?

  • I need that favor you promised me.

  • Anything for you Laurie.

  • I really don't have many friends, so I really need this favor.

  • You have one hour.

  • It worked. Thank you so much

  • You're late.

  • I know. I'm sorry, but it worked.

  • Scarlet had to end the cycle.

  • Is everything okay?

  • No, it's not okay.

  • But, I wanted to thank you.

  • Leave.

  • The demons in the woods urged her to keep the hourglass and continue the cycle.

  • But Scarlet knew it would never end otherwise.

  • (demons whispering)

  • Shut up.

  • Shut up.

  • (demons whispering)

  • (breaking glass)

  • Sacrificing herself, the selfish little girl wasn’t so selfish after all.

  • What would you sacrifice?

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Scarlet.
