  • however, one.

  • Welcome to another video now released almost five years ago, The Duty X 9 70 wasn't without controversy.

  • Despite being advertised as a graphics card with four gigabytes of the RAM, some users began to notice performance issues when the GPU surpassed 3.5 gigs usage wise, leading to the realization that the 9 70 features 3.5 gigs of high performance V RAM and no 0.5 gigs Off Performance limited The RAM.

  • To put it simply so began a class action lawsuit that ended up with 9 70 owners being able to claim back $30 as a settlement.

  • The thing is, this had no long term effect on the nine seventies popularity, and it still went on to become a very popular choice for gamers still retaining a top 10 spot in the steam hardware survey at the very time this video was uploaded, albeit with a slight but constant decline, it has been five years after all.

  • So what can this car do in 2019 when I picked up the Palate Jet Stream edition with the intention to find out, this version improves upon both the reference cards stock and boost speeds, and it looks nice, too.

  • Even if it matters absolutely nothing in my system or anyone's probably so no messing around here.

  • Let's get straight into it and see what this thing can do.

  • Kicking our game.

  • Play benchmarks off with Apex legends This fast paced multiplayer title runs wonderfully a 10 80 p with a mixture of high and medium settings.

  • I think we could have switched everything too high orbit.

  • The texture quality is that is where the biggest toll was taken on performance.

  • 60 F.

  • P.

  • S was the target throughout, whilst using the best possible settings I could.

  • Let's not forget that at 329 U.

  • S.

  • Dollars that launched the 9 70 WAAS, a very capable GPU back in the day with full HD and 60 f.

  • P s being easily achievable, while Battlefield five ultra gave us a few issues here and there.

  • The high preset ironed out any of these faults, and we were seeing a very nice average throughout this level.

  • High was used with nothing else changed, and it seems the 9 70 which can easily be found for less than £100 dollars or euros on the used market not to mention in plentiful supply due to its overwhelming popularity, is holding up quite well thus far.

  • I like to throw 2000 seven's crisis into the benchmarks every now and then to give you an idea of how it runs with modern hardware.

  • Because, just like with older stuff, it can prove to be a difficult task here.

  • There, with the very high settings and anti alias ing disabled things went very well during this demanding tank level.

  • There's plenty of action on screen here, but our card remained cool, quiet and collected as it plowed through this once PC melting Triple A title.

  • Just don't touch that anti alias ing switch dirt really, too, with the Ultra settings and Max Anti Releasing, however, averaged at least 60 F.

  • P s as well.

  • This game really looks fantastic at higher settings, but thankfully, there is a nice range of customizable settings that can make this playable on a lot of different and weaker hardware.

  • This always seems to be the way with the games, and I'm constantly thankful to the developers for this.

  • What I'm not so thankful for, though, is the difficulty of this off road racer and fallout for I turn the 60 FBS frame cap off to show you what it can really do on this card, But this will cause graphical glitches here and there, like the lock picking segments to run sort of sped up.

  • I prefer to leave the frame rate, capt.

  • Because of this, but for benchmarking purposes, I disabled it in the Games I and I file, which is easily enough to do.

  • Should you want an unlimited frame rate as well, though I'd certainly advise against it.

  • Far cry New Dawn will run the same owes Far Cry five as it's pretty much a re skin.

  • So what you see here is what you'll get across both titles.

  • Performance is excellent, Ultra, and the 9 70 holds its own very well.

  • As we made our way through this oversaturated yet satisfying landscape, I have noted CPU issues before with the eye.

  • 5 84 100 I'm using for this test, but things were a little better today.

  • Grand Theft Auto five is a few years old now, and we'll have no trouble on this graphics card, either.

  • Running with just over 100 f b s on average with M s, a disabled and some very high graphics options being used.

  • Performance will differ based on location on the map, but you'll have a decent enough experience no matter where you are with a Jew, Tex 9 70 As you can see here, I believe I tested Uta five a few years ago with this card compared to some others, and I don't think it did as well then.

  • But of course we have to factoring the different process er, different settings and, of course, driver upgrades, not to mention game upgrades since then.

  • Also now Metro Exodus is sort of the new crisis, in many ways the most obvious being that it doesn't run well on a lot of graphics, cards or processes.

  • For that matter.

  • I used medium here to try and hit Thesixty F.

  • P s target I had in mind on.

  • While that was possible in some areas of the benchmark test, the average worked out close at 2 50 It was an okay result.

  • An actual gameplay will differ, of course, because there are many levels in this game, each with different performance pitfalls.

  • I will say, though, that met your ex.

  • It's no matter what settings you use looks absolutely fantastic, and I think it's well worth a play.

  • In fact, it's available for free.

  • If you sign up to gain pass, I'm going to stop there.

  • That just sounds like an advert for game pass.

  • I just I just noticed it this morning.

  • That's all rage to seems to break the MSC afterburner overlay these days, for whatever reason, but I was able to monitor internally.

  • You just can't see those figures up on screen in order to hit 60 F PS medium settings are ideal throughout this game.

  • Playing the game looks good and plays very well.

  • But if you want to guarantee yourself a constant 60 f PS with no exceptions, then Lo would be a better bet.

  • And, of course, a bump down in resolution might also help.

  • Personally, I'd stick with medium a 10 80 p, though, as I think this gives you a well balanced experience, you get a nice mixture off performance and graphics.

  • No, I haven't played rust in a while, and sometimes I can be hesitant to do so on certain hardware because it can run horribly, not to mention it takes so long to load in the first place that if you jump into the game and find that your graphics card can't run it, it can feel a little bit like you've wasted half your day.

  • Okay, it doesn't take that long to load, but the loading times are quite long, and the performance can be a totally mixed bag.

  • However, the 9 70 handled it very nicely on.

  • We were using the fantastic quality preset.

  • This is the highest preset we can use from the games.

  • Launcher are throwing games that might not be 2018 or 2019 releases because their modern day performance we're still defer to the performance they displayed when they first released, when you consider not only of your game updates but driver updates for GP use as well in the witch or three.

  • The Ultra settings proved a little too much for the 9 70 But the high preset, as well as the high post processing settings, yielded a far better experience here, with a very nice 78 frames per second to report, you'll notice by that 780.1% low that there was an instance of some serious stutter but this happens with most hardware in the witch or three.

  • In my experience, no game play isn't heavily affected.

  • Either performance or enjoyment wise.

  • I have noticed that stutter seemed to occur when you're getting on or off your horse, at least in my case.

  • And as you make your way to a busy it's settlement, you might see a couple of frame dips here and there, but it's nothing gained breaking.

  • As I said before.

  • Don't worry too much if you have a mid range graphics card, because you should still be able to handle it with reduced settings.

  • And it looks fantastic no matter what preset you run with.

  • Pub G also ran very well, ultra.

  • The game is so much better performance wise these days, Andi.

  • It's more accessible to those with more budget friendly hardware, which I like.

  • I'm glad so much work seems to have been put into improving optimization, though I'm sure not everyone would agree that that is the case.

  • That being said, you might notice a bit of micro stutter here and there.

  • Personally, I think it was picked up from the start of the game where you jump out of the plane as opposed to running about on the ground, though there are a lot of different things going on.

  • So expect there to be a few minor hiccups as you make your way through towns, cities or just dense forest.

  • Finally, we have Hitman two.

  • I'm pleased to say my Internet is not only back out, but it's a little bit faster.

  • So I took the opportunity to buy a couple more games for testing.

  • Some of you may remember I mentioned I had an Internet outage last video, and that's the reason I haven't made one in a few days.

  • But hopefully we can get back to some sort of schedule here on the channel.

  • Now back on the subject, though, and Hitman two runs just fine at 10.

  • A.

  • Tp Ultra With all the games tested and everything Seddon done, it seems that despite its issues on paper, the 9 70 continues to be a decent GPU, especially now when it could be found for a good price on the used market.

  • I don't think paying more than £100 dollars or euros one of these cards would be ideal, but I think even at that price.

  • You're still getting a decent GPU that can offer nice performance across modern titles.

  • If you don't mind turning things down in some games like Rage to or Metro Exodus, for example.

  • But you'll probably have to turn things down in Metro Exodus no matter what graphics card you're using.

  • So to repeat myself, I think the 9 70 still does a pretty good job.

  • If you enjoyed this video than you agree, lever like on it down below.

  • If you don't like this video, for whatever reason, or you think the 9 70 shouldn't be touched with a 10 foot barge pole, please leave a dislike on it down below.

  • Subscribe to the channel if you haven't done so already, and hopefully I'll see all of you in the next one.

  • Well, we'll be taking a look back at a first generation rise and build to see whether or not one of those is still worth putting together.

however, one.
