  • Hi, it's Alfredo. During the summer before my senior year of college, I spent eight weeks

  • in Quebec, which is a French-speaking province in Canada. I was nervous ahead of time because

  • had never spoken with a native speaker of French. In fact, before the trip, the only

  • people that I had spoken French with were my French teachers and the other students

  • from my French classes at college.

  • When I finally started speaking with native speakers of French in the town of Matane,

  • it was a thrilling experience. I found that because of the vocabulary and the grammar

  • that I had learned, I could speak without pausing very much at all.

  • advanced words, you can use them fluently.
